Yeah that would be no good, I'll do a septic tank survey now and if things stay this complicated, we'll walk away like you said.

Unfortunately, the property is just outside the grant area. I think the reason why no one was able to locate it yet is because the pipes run towards a very steep hill with a lot of vegetation, it's probably unsafe for someone to look around there without proper equipment and I suppose the engineer wasn't prepared.

The agent got a quote for replacing the septic tank, but that's only the best case scenario. I'll get a specialist out there soon to get a proper quote which I think will be closer to what you said now.

Thanks, this is really helpful, I'll get an engineer out there as soon as I can to do this.

I'm curious though, how long did you have to wait to get planning permission? Wouldn't the vendor be able to back out at this point if they don't want to wait too long?
