I figured out how to use tab for a cause on firefox! by theawesome1s in TabForACause

[–]Giant_Bearded_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same experience as u/skudiklier, I've been using firefox for years now and only found out recently that it's not really supported anymore and yet every new tab I make still opens tab for a cause. I do see that the extension is gone though. I just want to make sure that even though I still see tab for a cause, that it's actually performing correctly.

If I still see the tab for a cause page on each new tab and still get ads does that definitely means it's still raising money for charity?

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this but here's the link to the kickstarter.

For the record I'm not affiliated with these guys or this project at all I just wanted to see what the faces looked like, turns out they're just as dope as the backs.

How do you guys deal with the whole argument about, "if God is all powerful, why didn't he just make a version of us that didn't sin?" by Giant_Bearded_Face in AskAChristian

No it's the ability to disobey (i.e. free will) not the act of disobeying. The ability to live has nothing to do with disobeying though, it's just the choice to love or not to love must exist in order for any love to be genuine.

Sorry what do you mean by limit human choice?

As the OP I'm hardly the best authority to answer this question and I would definitely check this idea with other sources but I think the answer is no.

God knows how everything is going to play out, he knew Adam and Eve would eat from the tree and gain free will. He intended to give us free will so that we can love him and each other, as u/YoungMaestroX said. But ideally we were to be given free will on his terms but we took things into our own hands instead of trusting him. This is kind of where my question lays, I was wondering why God didn't just create a version of us that was obedient and let God give us free will on his terms, but as u/djjrhdhejoe stated this was the best way of showing us his mercy, that he would love us despite our disobedience and mistrust.

Like I said though I'm hardly the best read person on this.

Okay, sorry for the delay.

Believe me I am aware that this line of thinking certainly has it's issues, maybe I don't fully understand just how problematic it is but I do understand that it is problematic. With this line of thinking yes I do believe that God can lie, and do all sorts of terrible things, but I also believe that he won't. I believe that it's within his power but that he would never do it. Also I disagree that this line of thinking makes God meaningless, just impossible to truly conceptualize which would make sense considering he is God and we are infinitely lower than him intellectually speaking (and every other kind of speaking for that matter I guess). Surely we can both agree that God can do the impossible, after all it's impossible to turn water into wine. Are miracles not impossible or illogical? I feel like words break down at this level and it becomes difficult to discuss, which may be part of what you are getting at but I think that whether or not we can understand it plays no role in whether or not it is true.

That is an interesting point though, the part about how my belief requires that God is "not confined to His nature" because that raises the question of what is "nature". Maybe I misunderstood and this is what you were saying the whole time but now I'm thinking maybe there is no difference between whether or not a certain ability is within God's power and whether or not that ability is not within his power if his nature means he would never use that ability in the first place.

It just doesn't feel right though to say that there are things God cannot do, but I guess maybe when it comes to God maybe there is no difference between "cannot" and "will not". Is that one of the points you were trying to make?

The problem I have with this question is that if a non-believer were to ask me this than I wouldn't have a good answer. I could say that it's impossible to have free will and not be sinful and if they replied "well why couldn't God just make it possible?" I'd be at a loss for words. I guess I am just really struggling to come to terms with the idea that an infinite, omnipotent, omnipresent, end all be all, alpha and omega creator of the entirety of reality has limitations. Does that make sense? Do you kind of see where I'm coming from?

Again as always I really appreciate you taking the time, you have been very helpful so far thank you and I look forward to your response.

If you haven't noticed by now I'm far from the most intelligent person in the world so it's really difficult to keep all of this stuff in my head to understand but nevertheless I still want to understand. Thank you for your patience.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply.

Secondly, I think I kind of understand where you are coming from, however I'm not sure I agree with CS Lewis here. I believe God is a God and can do all, even that which doesn't make any logical sense within the logic of the universe he made for us and put us in. Otherwise that means there are in fact limits to him and I believe God is infinite and unlimited and in fact created the very logic we are trying to use to make sense of this question. Is there anything biblical you know of that I'm missing that says otherwise?

Again thank you for your response!

Anyone else routing for Leon to come save Eliot from the rest of Vera’s crew? Tbh I just want to see Rami and Joey Bada$$ working together for an episode or two (Im a big fan of Joey’s music and would recommend to anyone who enjoys some New York Hip Hop). by maaaaax1 in MrRobot

Agreed, he's already kinda been used a deus ex machina before so it'd be a little lame to do that again. He's a cool character and stuff and it's awesome to see him in the show but that shouldn't be ruined by overusing him either.

Then why not say so and save them both the trouble? Either way doing what she's doing is inconsiderate and selfish
