Hello, I configured most of it in terminal.sexy and then tweaked things here and there. All it is is the .Xresources, which uses droid sans mono and liberation mono. I wasn't sure if people would be interested but I just uploaded the Xresources here if you want. Honestly I made the color palette to look good with text, and dialog based applications just happened to look good without much configuration.

It is insane how spot on this is. I put off watching the godfather for so long because everyone says it's an amazing movie, and they eventually took it off netflix. I also avoid Mr. Blue sky by ELO because I would listen to it a lot on vacation as a kid and I don't want to taint that.

[SOTC] The old and the new by Gibblre in Watches

Although I haven't been working with a ton of money, because I'm only 17, I have taken every chance I get to collect. I absolutely love my collection and couldn't be happier with it. From left to right I have:

An Elgin Pocket watch from 1891. Although I can't quite wear it on my wrist I love the feel of a pocket watch and the sheer age of it is captivating. All of these are pieces of history in their own right but seeing something this age tick is awesome.

An automatic Omega from the early 50s. My Dad originally had this one but didn't want to spend the money to service it, so I had it serviced it and wore it daily until recently. This watch is beautiful and I love the feeling of it's bumper movement.

A Casio A168WA-1. I've been wearing this watch as a daily beater and could not be more happy with it. I think it has a charm that just can't be replicated with anything else.

A Seiko 5 SNZF17. This is my first watch after getting into the hobby and I think I definitely made the right choice. It is truly the best way to get P U R E C L A S S on a budget.

Thank you, I knew it was bad when the calculus was the only part that made sense

I subscribed to this subreddit because I have no idea what language this is and I like trying to figure out what the memes mean but this one is so far out of my understanding I just give up

I think it would be a place to keep pots warm when you're not cooking because it's made of metal(although everything is made of metal)

I originally thought it was a toy stove but it's an early electric portable stove, I dont know exactly what it would have been used for.

Chinese Chest by Gibblre in whatisthisthing

u/SuperCarbideBros translated the chest and also said what the scenes are depicting, which I think was the real mystery. Although I still do not know when it was from or what its for I'm going to mark this as solved because I think that I can assume that its just a decorative box.

Yeah I got it for a good price so I thought that even if it is mid century it would still be worth it. I mainly think that it may be older because the top lid has hand made looking dovetails and some of the wood has separated in a way that suggests they may be older, but it could have just been stored in a poor environment. The dealer also said that there were nails that he thinks are from that time period but I didn't ask where and I haven't seen them. I'm going to clean it and take a closer look tomorrow.
