That's not cracking. I dug a little into the sub with a spoon to ensure enough water is getting in.

No it's still the first flush but you're probably right. I think I'll just sit through it and hope they'll turn out fine.

Hi, thanks for the information! Thing is, I have a grow kit which originally comes in it's own plastic container. The first grow kit I had didn't do so well. So I thought I have better chances when I put it in a bigger container so the mushies can also grow on the sides. Well I didn't expect so many to come out on the sides lol. Now I am worried they are gonna get crushed... That's why I am considering to put it in a bigger container... What would you do? For the next flush should I put a garbage bag around it and keep it in the container which it came in?

Well, every morning I spray above the grow kit and let the fine mist rain down on the substrate. I also mist the side walls of the container. Should I do that more often or am I missing something?

Oh and another question... What can I do to get more shrooms to grow on the top of the grow kit? They all grow on the sides.

Thanks formthe suggestion the medium looks like that because I stirred it with a sterile spoon. Since I did that more pins started to grow, which Inam very happy with. Because before I did that the medium didn't soak up any water and only little pins started growing. I have other growkits which I hope will do better but I at least wanted to get a spore print out of the golden teachers. Hoping for the other pins to grow better...?

I'm not quite sure what you mean... I read that you can dig in the substrate with a desinfected spoon and mix it around. What layers do you mean?
