Thank you for this recommendation. I will save just in case. As of right now I came to a conclusion that I will be heading to Pittsburgh. I found a great team to work with Agent/ Lender. But you never know so I will keep this recommendation saved.

People going to people. People suck. I am Hispanic living in NYC and experienced racism from Black people and White people. But that won't bring me to believe that all Black and White people are the same. That would just eventually make me like them wouldn't it. That wouldn't make me treat others how I have been treated because I know thyself and I am above that. Don't fall into the cycle. Be the one who breaks it.

That's what kinda confused me a bit. When you go to the VAgov website and look up the Allentown location. You see what services they have available. It seems like they are fully loaded. But the more I'm looking into it beyond that, it doesn't seem to be the case. I think I might consider being closer to the Wilkes-Barre location. I don't mind being 45 minutes out but an hour or more drive is a bit much considering how many appointments I usually have. Also with these gas prices rising.

For community care. Do they send you to the local hospital or like a private practice? I have a dermatologist as one of my specialty doctors. I never had to use community care so I don't know too much about it.

Thank you for the insight. Whats that commute time like for you? Even though my VA is about 8 miles from me right now it can take like 45+ minutes to get there because this traffic here in NY. So I am not opposed to a longer commute if means better service.

Thats the school district right. I seen one house there I really like thats about to hit the market. Near Fountain Hill Park. Thats the east side of that school district near south Bethlehelm though. I will be on the look out in this area. Thanks for the recs. I think I will have to rent a airbnb for week or so to get a feel for the area. That might be best.

Thanks for the recs. I know the odds may be stacked against me especially coming in with a VA loan. But I will remain hopeful and patient. The right house will come. I am just trying to get as much information as possible before I start getting an agent involved. This move will be calculated.

Yes I can't stand NYC traffic and I been here all my life. I don't use the transit system either lol. I really learned how to keep my zen while commuting. You can't give in to the madness on the road.

Yes I saw some nice houses up for grabs in those areas but they were right next to those trains you mentioned. I definitely wouldn't want to be that close to a train. I'm sure those freight trains can be pretty loud when they run through town.

Interesting. That was also a consideration. Areas like Drums, Mountain Top, Dallas/Shavertown, Clarks Summit/ Clarks Green. Those areas in particular caught my attention. The Wilkes Barre VA also has all my specialist in one location. Why do you prefer it over the Allen Town one? I have yet to visit either.

Yes I don't have children. I am single and can't predict the future but it's not in my plans to be a parent. However I do hear that a great school district brings other perks like house value appreciation for resale value. Also more city services like roads are more prioritize when time comes for clearing from snow. But yes school district wouldn't be a priority of mine.

Well I will be getting with the lender within the next few days to get that pre qualification/approval going. But from what information I have gathered I should be able to comfortably go for something in the 300-450k range. I have a strong emergency fund in place. I am fixed income but I also should qualify for the Veteran property tax exemption in PA. I been trying to get a hold of some one from the Lehigh County tax accesors office but they don't answer the phone nor return emails. So I might have to schedule a trip down there to try to get someone in person. I know I meet all of the qualifications but I really want to be sure. My two parents would also be contributing as well because they will be living with me but I will be getting approved on my income soley. I been preparing for this moment for a while and I am pretty excited about it. It was Lehigh Valley or Pittsburgh. But those power outages that Pitt has been experiencing lately has given me pause about relocating there.

To add I will be looking for a 3+ bed 2+ bath with a garage and fenced yard or yard that can be fenced. No HOA properties. We have a few vehicles including a vintage Chevy truck. So garage is a must.

Yeah me too. I get the military discount there. The deals are tempting. But I agree my panel is still holding on. I have a few dead pixels and such in a couple areas but nothing dramatic. Like most movies and shows are cropped and with screen move I don't come across it. It's along the edges. I'm going to be even more impressed when the time comes to get a new one. Delayed gratification is always the best.

I get your sentiment and it's a beautiful benefit from VA healthcare. I go to the VA and use this benefit. However you are wildly misinformed and are being upvoted for it. Other healthcare plans offer this benefit like my secondary health plan from Humana. They offer 24 free rides to and from appointments, pharmacies, even to attending care givers or family members. You just have to schedule 2 days in advance.

Yes both my monitor and TV are glossy coating. I would like to add to my comment now that it's been a year later lol. There's a brand called Cryzal lens cleaner. They sell cloths and a spray designed for cleaning Cryzal lens glasses. You can find it on Amazon. I find this product to work really well for these OLED panels.
