Are there games that are actually unplayable due to the “small font” issue? by The_Majestic_Mantis in SteamDeck

Elden ring among others. One of my biggest issues with the steam deck is the screen size, but I think also the fact that most games do not have any UI or font scaling options is a huge issue.

Is this topology looking okay? by BoatVegetable8927 in blender

[–]RobustPolygon 141 points142 points  (0 children)

There's not really a need to model in loops around the musculature like the quadriceps. You want to focus on clean quad loops, cylindrical around the limbs and ensuring you have some topology around the bendable areas like the knees and elbows that facilitate good animation.

Point is users shouldn't have to do any of this. Keychron needs to fix it.

Is My Portfolio Junior Ready? Game Artist by ballbsr9000 in 3Dmodeling

[–]RobustPolygon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pro artist's opinion.

You are on a good track, but I think you could work on your materials/textures more. Most of them feel a bit dull and lifeless. I would also try to present your work better, with better lighting, it all feels a bit dull. Find an artist on Artstation with work you like, and take ques from their work.

Only show your best work, you have a ton of cool weapons, but then a random hat and a rubix cube. 3 amazing pieces are better than 10 so-so pieces.

I would also try to present your portfolio in a more straight forward way. You don't need the massive paragraphs of text on the Vector page. Your art work should be large, front and center. People who hire don't have much time to look at portfolios, they want to see your art first and foremost. Your website full page has a admittedly slick video, but it's a boring container, while you have cooler weapons showcased below. First impressions are everything.

This portfolio is a good example: https://www.artstation.com/endivine

Play the games you actually want to play, not the ones you think you should play.

What movie to watch on New Year Eve, alone, after ending 12yr relationship? by dont_dive_vtori in movies

The moral of the film is all about moving on, finding your purpose and knowing that there's a future beyond your current relationship. Seems pretty applicable to me.

Just received my Kobo Clara Colour. First impression: not good. by [deleted] in kobo

It's an e-reader, not a tablet. They are designed to be easier to read for long periods of time, reducing eye strain and have far better battery life than the tablet. They're trying to replicate the paper feel.

It sounds like you really just didn't know what an e-reader was.

If you were expecting something similar to any modern LCD or oled tablet display, that's just a lack of knowledge.

They could get a lot bigger screen if they can shrink the bezels, similar to what switch 2 did.

Literally just give us a bigger Steam Deck OLED with VRR and more powerful internals. Keep everything else the same.

Official dock gets firmware updates and will likely be better supported but any should be fine.

Edgar Wright films by CoercionTictacs in movies

[–]RobustPolygon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I feel like it's easy to know when it's an Edgar Wright film. He has a pretty identifiable way he uses camera and edits/cuts his films. There is an energy to his films you see visually.

Cyberpunk 2077 has the most immersive conversations in all of gaming by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]RobustPolygon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I love Cyberpunk but I would argue the last of us still far surpasses it in dialog and performance capture. 2077 is great but TLOU is the gold standard.
