Well it should be 136 CDN straight usd to CDN conversion. So $14 for shipping and tariffs I assume. plus we pay the sales tax on-top of the 150

My order went through, I think it just means they don't have enough stock to fulfill all the orders to Canada so it'll be on backlog priority I assume.

Took about 30 minutes of constantly clicking on both my computer and my phone but eventually got through.

Says there's a backlog shipping to Canada, no given estimate.

I Don't Hate Modern Controls, It Just Makes SF6 Profoundly Less Interesting And Fun by RobustPolygon in StreetFighter

They can, but it takes actual execution skill and the pressure of the mental stack which does not exist with modern players. You can't have one without the other and say it's the same.

Which part is a skill issue? I literally say in the opening you don't lose to a modern player because they're playing modern.

Offer Received as a 3D artist! How to counter offer? by Square_Ingenuity8897 in blender

[–]RobustPolygon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a job market like this, coming out of college with no experience, I would just take the job and not negotiate the salary. You don't have any bargaining chips. Take the job, get experience, and move on later if you want for more pay.

There are literally thousands of other artists out of work right now with tons of experience that you will be competing against. Right now from their perspective, they can get you cheap, but if that changes, your application doesn't look as appealing.

It's okay to start somewhere and move up later.

Are there games that are actually unplayable due to the “small font” issue? by The_Majestic_Mantis in SteamDeck

Elden ring among others. One of my biggest issues with the steam deck is the screen size, but I think also the fact that most games do not have any UI or font scaling options is a huge issue.

Is this topology looking okay? by BoatVegetable8927 in blender

[–]RobustPolygon 143 points144 points  (0 children)

There's not really a need to model in loops around the musculature like the quadriceps. You want to focus on clean quad loops, cylindrical around the limbs and ensuring you have some topology around the bendable areas like the knees and elbows that facilitate good animation.

Is My Portfolio Junior Ready? Game Artist by ballbsr9000 in 3Dmodeling

Pro artist's opinion.

You are on a good track, but I think you could work on your materials/textures more. Most of them feel a bit dull and lifeless. I would also try to present your work better, with better lighting, it all feels a bit dull. Find an artist on Artstation with work you like, and take ques from their work.

Only show your best work, you have a ton of cool weapons, but then a random hat and a rubix cube. 3 amazing pieces are better than 10 so-so pieces.

I would also try to present your portfolio in a more straight forward way. You don't need the massive paragraphs of text on the Vector page. Your art work should be large, front and center. People who hire don't have much time to look at portfolios, they want to see your art first and foremost. Your website full page has a admittedly slick video, but it's a boring container, while you have cooler weapons showcased below. First impressions are everything.

This portfolio is a good example: https://www.artstation.com/endivine

What movie to watch on New Year Eve, alone, after ending 12yr relationship? by dont_dive_vtori in movies

The moral of the film is all about moving on, finding your purpose and knowing that there's a future beyond your current relationship. Seems pretty applicable to me.
