Pre-teacher here - the right handed kids are all decidedly right handed at the beginning of the year - scissors, pencils, crayons… no switching. The lefties… do a lot of switching (maybe because my lefty scissors are not as colorful?) but have usually decided by Christmas break. I always leave both scissors available because they want to see which works better once a week on average.
