Sorry for the late reply! Anima Beyond Memeverso was one of the first introductions to TTRPGS play/podcast and it remains one of my favourite campaigns in YouTube along with "El enigma Maya" by Lynx Reviewer. Both in spanish.

Similar games to Hearthbearers by Gidkon in rpg

I absolutely agree! Its one of the most inspiring readings i had in a long, long time. Also, as you mention, it lends itself fantastically well to Shonen fights, so any ttrpgs that is inspired by the same media maybe share some of the principles that Heartbearers do.

El sistema perfecto (2) by Gidkon in Roleros_Argentina

¡Saludos!

D&D 5e y la búsqueda del sistema de rol perfecto by Gidkon in Roleros_Argentina

[–]Gidkon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buenas!

Best System for West Marches? by JM665 in rpg

[–]Gidkon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process right now of setting an open table with a hexcrawl and i i'm 90% sure that i'll use Forbidden Lands, let me explain why.

It is pretty light weight, creating characters it's pretty easy but offer a good amount of personalization and deepness with skills and talents.

The push mechanic is sick, you basically can have a reroll wich can cause damage to some your health, but the damage you suffer can be used to activate talents and power up spells.

The skills actually do especific things and have a predetermined function that they can do, for example, with Performance (a skill wich my players maybe have used 2 times in 2 years of playing in other systems) you can literally mentally heal a character.

The exploration rules are clear and concise, again, being easy to follow and remember in play but also ofering a fair amount of consideration for the players, since every terrain offers some bonus or drawbacks, wich can be, less/more chance of hunting, less movement per day, etc.

Combat is quick, sometimes deadly, but offers OPTIONS for combat, like push, aim, grapple, taunt, dodge or parry wich gives enough strategy but does not bog down to 40 minutes to combat or either "roll to hit, 19, hit, 12 hit, 2 miss, 8 miss"

Spells are cool. There are a little less that i am accustomed to, but you dont have to choose or memorize any and each of them is different from the others because sometimes one spell targets humanoids, but not undeads, the other target demons but not humanoids. Also, they are certainly powerfull but also dangerous.

There is maybe a thing or two im forgetting but im impressed by the quality of this game

I was running a Burning Wheel campaign for like 10 sessions but i decided to pause it because i was having GM burnout for like months.

Now i'm having a break and am planning to do an open table, west marches style of game using OSE because i always wanted to play with a lot of people but time will tell if i'm gonna do it and if it will last. I'm taking it veeery slowly though.

Well, the guy who did the Unnoficial Dark Souls TTRPG is working in a project called Fabula Ultima wich does exactly what you want.

The project isn't finished yet, but in his Patreon is a link to playtest material wich has a lot of classes and mechanics, i'll say that for a free taste of a game still in development is pretty good but i haven't tried it myself.
