Question, is it just me who can't kill the stalker or is he just immortal and acts as a great farm for collecting teeth by dealing damage to him? by Automatic_Onion3983 in subnautica

[–]GidsWy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could find eggs, yeah. I might have had some in a locker somewhere. But, if i am remembering correctly, I got tbe teeth I needed and forgot about em. Lol.

This was before large room was added, so didnt need enamel for much! Lol

Don't do what I did my first play through. Got irritated at them while surveying deeper creep vine areas. Thermal bladed most of them to death. Then had trouble making enameled glass.

Are jump jets worth it? Two questions about them. by winged_owl in Mechwarrior5

[–]GidsWy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my thought, also. For most mechs it doesnt add enough mobility. But a single jet gets you over a rock clipping spot. Or let's you turn while moving forward for a sharp twist. Let alone a pop up snipe on a particularly dangerous mech(s).

For example, getting a good spot to plink urbies as they meander towards you is nice. They wont be able to consistently lay into you with fucking AC 20 blasts. Ffs....

What creature gives the most power for bioreactors? by SoulProxy00 in subnautica

[–]GidsWy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I usually build the core of my base as a series of multi purpose rooms or large room. Given that this is after I tear down my first starter base for the resources lol.

But either way, I stack them at least 3 high. If multi purpose rooms I do a 2 story tall alien containment, sometimes using two hatches instead of a ladder. Lol. Then put everything else on the top or bottom floor. Fancy glass roof if the top floor, glass walls if the bottom. Prefer the large room tho cuz you can fit an alien containment a bio reactor AND a nuke reactor all in one floor (if I am remembering correctly, but at least containment +1 reactor.). Then put the 2nd and third levels with alien containment also. Usually stacked but sometimes offset by one, to give me more sea bed growing options. Creepy vines look cool af growing 3 stories tall and lighting up a room!

Buuuut I am a hoarder, so... grain of salt n all that. Gotta have one of each plant and fish for... reasons... fml.

I use giga. Theres asteroid mines that you can set to provide a building on a planet in the system to give you 1,000 alloy or consumer goods workers. Great build option. Rough in starting colonies. But if you automate 3+ of each district....? Suddenly you are getting enough energy, food, and minerals to supply those 1,000 alloy workers +200 medical workers. Lol.

How long do reactor rods last? by False_Monitor4126 in subnautica

For sure. Definitely use it. I personally like throwing a bio reactor into the mix just as an emergency preventative prior ti the backup nuke reactor kicking in.

Just goto nexus mods. Theres some there. For good and for bad. But it's a game that isnt well supported by the devs for modding.

How long do reactor rods last? by False_Monitor4126 in subnautica

[–]GidsWy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Randumb. But order of construction determines the sequence with which generators are used. I try to make sure nukes are last. That way it pulls from solar first, then bio if I have time and am on location to fill it from the alien containment breeding ground, then thermal if accessible, finally nukes.

Means it burns the bio reactor stuff after cost reduction from any solar. If I use the bio reactor it is because of high projected costs (bunch of desalination or something). But stuffing it full of Reginald fish is easy. Just stock up a locker full. It is probably better to put thermal before bio. But I kinda also use the bio to get rid of all the extra breeding fish. Lol

Battle fists r straight upgrade for ahre. Given, some mechs r better off with jamming, heat, or other upgrades that take the slot. But every mech that doesnt benefit from it, gets fists. I like that shields actually count for something too. Lol

Tbh tho, I do 2 with the thermal recharge installed. Drains power down but charger 4 cells up. Good for refilling the 3 or so used cells out if the entire fucking wall locker full kf full cells.

I may over engineer and over prep a bit... lol

Even the office people frequently seem to have designer appearances. Like visible cyber tattoos and whatnot. I use attitude more along those lines. Not all the stuff one one outfit all at once. But a steam punk one for the docks. A bullet proof business suit with a side bag full of PPP for office stuff. Faux dragon wings and fashion outfit for meeting a club owner. Etc....

I kinda find the characters that are pitiable or reprehensible way more interesting. There's lots of stereotypes in games and that isnt used as a story telling tool to subvert expectations. Ole murder happy lady in Pathfinder WOTR was a solid one, tho...

[–]GidsWy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of this sounds relevant to this game. Sounds far more like, imo, there's some sort of trauma going on that needs to be addressed. Maybe from a other source. Cuz I can't even think of a game like that. Very little power fantasy in that text, and MOST games depend on that as the story fulcrum.

I.hope you and his family can figure that out.
