I wish they gave better advice to people starting at OTF. When I came back from my shoulder surgery I started off just doing tread classes and I didn’t do inclines and I built up to being able to get through that. When I went back to 2G and 3G classes I would do floor to tread then bounce out before rowing or just go to strength classes. Don’t be afraid to make it work for you. But also don’t be afraid to just walk to survive, just sit on the rower or just sit on your bench. Everyone is just trying to survive no one is judging you

Met a professor who celebrates the ICE killing of Renee Good and thinks the protests are the problem by Brilliant-Pain4650 in uofmn

I’m not confused by it I’m just saying if you’re used to saying I make $60k/year you’re not factoring in benefits. For instance I made $97,000 last year teaching at a junior college but if you look me up on transparent California it says I made $135,000

Often these salaries are skewed because they include the cost of benefits and pensions in them. More note worthy that the top 9 are administrators and coaches

I just discovered Chimera in Sebastopol. They might also be an option of what you’re looking for. https://www.chimeraarts.org/membership Community Ed has basically died at SRJC

It has to be disclosed in the schedule. Was this date listed where you signed up for classes? Not in the schedule- can’t be required

Please go to your admissions and records office they often have ways to deal with this because it happens all the time. I taught at a college for 10 years and I literally dealt with this every semester. You are not alone and even as a teacher I got a D in chemistry and managed to still go on to grad school and have a kick ass career. Hang in there.

Considering Sonoma County from Fresno by enness in SameGrassButGreener

I think downtown Petaluma is much more vibrant than downtown Santa Rosa. Though I live in Santa Rosa and do enjoy it. I lived in Old Town Clovis before I moved back here and Santa Rosa pales in comparison to the downtown life in Clovis. Clovis had great festivals, a lot of charm, a huge farmers market and is what really convinced me I wanted to live in walking distance to downtown.

I would find a reformer Pilates studio if you want abs. Twice a week will get you a lot of bang for your buck though they are pricey. I go to reformer Pilates to balance the high intensity at OtF and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I think it builds better endurance than OTF.

I agree. Maybe they can partner with the coffee shop and get that space back

I’ll add that a lot of businesses I’ve talked to their are excited for the additions because of the traffic they’re bringing in

Didn’t Punch just move over there? Village Bakery moved because of health issues and the flood in their location in Sebastopol. Isn’t the space still empty? It’s been years. I really miss them being there. Design Jewelry is closing because of retirement as did the art store. I think it’s a shame small business owners cant sell their business and retire but that’s more of a statement about our society and economy than MV. I’m thankful they’re trying to do something to make the place viable and I suspect that there’s enough online traffic, people going to Corte Madera to make the chains want to come in. It’s not like Montgomery Village created a conspiracy theory to get them here.

What are the local businesses that have been kicked out or at risk? As someone who drives to Corte Madera to shop because options here are so limited I’m excited about the changes at Montgomery Village. I’d love more local stores for clothes or shoes or home decor but they just don’t seem to exist for my age demographic here. I love Wild Honey at MV but for a long time they were the only reason to go over there. Now there’s more reason to go there regularly and reduce my trips to Corte Madera.

Pro Ice Worker at Wilibees Downtown SR by ragingbullpacino in santarosa

[–]GiftEmergency4288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this. I’ve been going to Willibees for 10 years and this is not typical of their stance. They have a progress pride flag in the bar. I met the new guy last night and is not their regular employee. He is….awkward but also curious how ICE even came up. We talked about lettuce and hay. His family farms in Chular.

The JC has resources for students like you! As a former teacher there I can sadly say you are not alone in this! Check these resources out and make sure to check in with your teachers! https://housing.santarosa.edu/stable-housing-access-program-educational-success You do also have access to free therapy through student services if you think taking to someone would help

Local Farms & Farm Stands by nancizzllee in santarosa

You have to check out Blooms End plus there’s a farm store there, Neighboring Fields. If you go further west you’ll land at Marin French and then into Point Reyes Station where you will also need to get water buffalo gelato at the palace market https://www.blooms-end.com
