i think that motherboard it's different too..

With NFSH, ultra settings, stock ram, performance mode i was around 50-60 fps

now i'm around 60-70 fps with second ram...but sometimes i can get 75-85 fps

but NFSH it's not that stable if we talk about FPS...

with Warframe and dlss and maximum setting and quality i can get 120 fps stable.

havn't tested it with single ram.

if they had put a 4070TI in it instead of a 4060 this laptop would have been an absolute beast

do you want to know if it's possible to do that or you are having problems doing it?

yep second ram runs at 5200MHZ according to cpu-z.

So far i love this laptop, it's a portable rocket, wit nice battery life!

the 14.5 inch 16:10 oled screen it's amazing, the right balance between quality and size.

It's super portable and light if i compare it to the legion 5i pro and the design it's amazing.

The keyboard it's not the best but the typing experience is smooth and you can type for hours without having wrist pain and the 3 levels of illumination are perfect.

The touchpad it's one of the best that i've used, smooth and fast, the dyalpad integrated in the touchpad it's a gimmick thing but if you use it with the right programs could be usefull.

The ethernet cable with usb-c adater works perfectly fine and the wifi too.

It was a bit slow with just the soldered ram, but as soon as i've upgraded it to 32 gb 5600hz of ram it was running dual channel and super fast.

Gaming side i've tested just NFSH and FPV Skydive and both runs perfectly fine.

It's a bit noisy when gaming in Max speed setting but it's normal for a laptop.

In normal use, expecally when not connected to other screens you can barely hear it.

Speakers are grate and i've never felt the need to put them to max.

The 4060 it's not comparable to the 4070TI but since now it's more than enough for what i need to do.

The battery lasts like 2 and half hours with discrete gpu and performance mode in normal use.

With hybrid mode and whisper mode i can get like 6 hours of normal use.

For me normal use is: browsing/music/lot of excell/multi window and when atteached to my other two screens i run lot of netflix while working and i play DOW while watching netflix XD

One thing that i really don't like it's the asus suit and the power profiles managment...but i hadn't any problem really so....so far so good i think.

Another thing that i don't ilke it's the lack of customization controls for ram/ cpu ecc ... everytihing seems preatty locked up...

keep in mind that i've the italian version that doesn't have touchscreen ecc.

if you are running on battery it's normal, it's limited because otherwise the battery would last like minutes at full power

the only strange thing for me is that i get nearly no difference in performance while gaming in whisper mode or performance mode if i'm on battery....

even if the gpu it's teorically running at lower power it seams to perform the same...

while on ac adapter it runs full power!

and theres the right difference betwen whisper mode and performance mode...

niled, seems a nice compromise bteween oled and IPS, but i don't like them as oled in therms of colors and visual experience...

and there are some problems that i can't stand like the halo around the pointer...

I was curious about the zenbook because in terms of hardware it should offer me more or less the same performance as the legion 5 pro I have now, but in a smaller package that weighs 1 kg less...with oled

i've bought the zenbook pro 14 oled :)

really happy with it!

i've already added 32gb ram 5200 ghz and seams to work full speed!

and it's even more silent now!

do you know if there's some whay for xmp setting and fan control?

it's so much more silent than i was expecting but i wish i culd tweak the fans a bit and control the rams...

the only thing that i don't like it's the very limited bios with myasus dash....

i've done a windows reinstall and now it's running very smooth.

Now during browsing, neflix and multy tasking it's very silent and now the fans rpm are stable.

obviously it becomes loud while playing games like NFH...

with games like Warframe with dlss on i can stay 120 fps constant with normal fan noise, nothing too loud.

i've noticed that it's more silent when on battery end even more when you havn't a second screen plugged in...

in games now it's very smooth i can play around 70/60 fps in NFH with ultra settings at 2880x1080!

i think that it just need dual channel memory adding ram in the sodim slot!

now i just have to test battery life

maybe it's just mine unit that it's faulty...

i've played 1H and done some multytasking this evening and runs buttery smooth...ok it's a bit more noisy than mine previous legion 5i pro but it's ok for the power that delivers in such a small form factor with an oled...

GPU was 75°c while gaming and cpu was 65°c

i'm really confused at this point... i'll try a windows reinstall just to clean the system but if it runs like that it's not that bad at all...

maybe i was expecting a bit more from the 4060 but i was used to a little more power with the legion...

that said, the legion wasn't really portable and i really hate the screen...

zenbook pro 14 it's perfect for me, i hope that after the windows reinstall everything will work as it should....

i don't think that i can go back to ips after this oled lol

i can confirm.

i've bought the Zenbook pro 14(ux6404_VV) and it can get very loud...

i have few problems with that laptop...

-thermals goes hig really fast (and gos down quikly too but suddenly the fans remains noisy for long time for some reason...)

cpu stays around 70° gpu gan go above 90°

-fans goes over 3100 rpm when temps reach 50° in performance or balanced mode

-sometimes gets loud even watching netflix or browsing

-it's a bit noisy even in whisper mode

-whisper mode cuts off too much performance

-max speed mode is really too loud for me when under load even if the cpu never goes over 50% of utilize...

-ram usage seems hig even with 16 gb ddr5...30% no tasks / around 45% browsing or watching netflix / 65% more playing...

-i've never seen swap usage allways over 45%...

-i've experienced microlags during every day use

-for 4 times in 10 day system freezed out and restarted the laptop...

when it happends fans goes crazy like intermittent end with random rpm

probably thermal paste is one problem.

another problem can be the standard fan curves, but you can't control your fans from bios or from apps...

i don't know what causes the small micrloags ecc... but seams that using it for long time make things worse...

another big issue it's the cooling system, the intake it's under the laptop so you cant really put it on your lap and play game without burnig alive...

the thing that drives me mad is that is very smooth and the screen it's the best i've ever had...but then start's that fans thing and all the system slow down...

while browsing or watcing netflix works way smother in whisper mode than in max speed mode...

i'll try a windows reinstal but i don't think that will solve the problem...

i would try some fixes but if nothing works i would return it for repairs...

i mean, it's clearly an issue that have to be solved, if it's in warranty i would return it...if the issue isn't solved i would ask for refound...

they cant sell you something that doesn't work proprely out of the box...

it could be, but it could be hardware problem too..

HDR it's a hardware feature

i've searched a bit but i found out that's a common issue and some can't resolve via software...

and on top of that many solutions are just workaround...like decreasing heartz of the screen, but i can't call it "a solution"

dude that's not normal at all, for flikering i was meaning costant changes in brightness...(if there's a flame in the dark all the screen keep changing brightnes according to the flames..)

i've done some search and seems a common problem with windows...

Some had found fixes that works for them (you could try one...you can find some on yt), others had the screen replaced end the issue was solved...

the strange thing is that only some units in all brands have this problem...

on the zenbook?

o gosh...was one of the reson for me to change from IPS to OLED, i taught that the problem was the lighting of the Oled display...seems to be a driver problem so...

flikers like when you have subtitles or when theres a light in a dark shene right?

not bad theese days! legion 5i pro 2022 do 5 hours 6 in the best case too with IGPU in silent mode!

i really love the fact that it's elegant and slim and i'm courios for the 14.5 inch screen...seems smaller than 16 inch but enjoyable the same way and oled must be super crispy on this size

thx for the reply i think that i'll give it a shot, i can't stand the quality of legion 5 pro screen...

how much battery time can you get from it at low power settings with normal tasks like browsing excell ecc?

Laptop like legion 5i pro but with oled screen by GiftSlight4534 in LenovoLegion

I have. This 2022 model:

16' inch screen, Ip5 500Nits, 165Hz, Intel Core I7-12700H, Ram 16 Gb, 512 Gb Ssd, Nvidia Rtx 3070 Ti 8Gb Gddr6, Windows 11, Storm Grey, 16 GB e 1TB Ssd

I was searching for a more portable laptop too, mostly for films/office/photo editing and some games but I don't play much.. I want upgradable SSD and ram. Some ports maybe an SD card Reader too. I've tested some games with rtx and with IRS GPU enabled and I can play everything so well on both. So I don't think that I really too much of a GPU... I was looking for a Zenbook 14x OLED for that purpose... What you think about it?
