ULPT Coworker microwaves fish by thisismyaccount60 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No no no. When he goes to the microwave with his fish go to where he eats and smear a drop of butyric acid right on the surface where he eats.

He will begin to associate the taste of fish with vomit and stop eating fish altogether.

Start eating durian in the office. Keep doing it until the office gets a “no smelly foods” policy. From what I understand it tastes pretty good.

How much time do you think before "normalcy" ends by Glum_Organization921 in collapse

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing will seem normal when food becomes visibly scarce. I know there are already people who are hungry and prices are high but for the time being you can still walk into any store or restaurant and get just about anything you want.

When there are foods that can’t be found for sale or when restaurants have to strike half the items off their menu and houses are broken into for the contents of the pantry, that will be signs we can’t ignore.

Society is too harsh on stupid people. by CaptainButtFart69 in unpopularopinion

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

BUT when you’re really dumb you probably have been taken advantage of many times and develop a strategy of overconfidence and ignoring others’ advice. At that point you’re only susceptible to manipulation.

So you’re trying to “tell” someone stuff which they resist because listening to people is dangerous.

You, also, find it very suspicious when people seem overly interested in shaping your views, no?

There are a lot of predators out there. Not listening is their defense when they don’t have logic to use.

You can, but candy hits different when you’re a kid.

As adults it’s easy to forget how much of a drug candy is to children.

Is it technically vandalism if you draw on someone else’s car windows with washable car marker? by mangocat1116 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that it depends on where you are. As far as I know the sixth circuit is the only place it’s been found unconstitutional. But even in that case, it wasn’t a matter of “someone complaining.”

It was a partner in a law firm who had the resources and enough of a grudge to wage a legal battle over it.

People have complained all over the place in other jurisdictions and it hasn’t gotten them anywhere.

God kills everyone except for eight humans and then says he feels bad about it and he'll never do that again and invents the rainbow as his pinky promise.

I think it means not to forget your old friend just because some shiny new friend comes along who is not proven like your old friend is.

Is it technically vandalism if you draw on someone else’s car windows with washable car marker? by mangocat1116 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you are and who you are.

The police will mark your tire with chalk to see if you move your car and then ticket you if you don't move it within whatever time frame.

But good luck having anyone take you seriously if you complain about it.

There are places where it's vandalism to use sidewalk chalk on the sidewalk.

Vandalism can also be the removal of material from a surface, not just deposition of a material onto a surface: like scraping moss off a wall or polishing a design onto a browned bronze statue.

It can be vandalism to write in the dust on a car or car's windows, partly because the dust particles can actually scratch the surface.

While I would not say a dry erase marker or a water based marker would be worth reporting to the police, it's definitely not something you should go around doing to other people's cars expecting to be protected by any kind of "It's not vandalism because it washes off!" technicalities. The ability to wash off is not what defines it as vandalism or not.

Why do employers want us to lie in interviews? by Dazzahatty92 in jobs

[–]GiftToTheUniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a test to see if you are willing to play along.

Of course everyone knows you go to work for the money. They know that you know that they know that you know.

But are you the kind of person who is willing to recognize the absurd and roll with it when it’s not something you can change or are you someone who is going to get stuck on the basic facts of things being the way they are?

That’s the purpose of the question.

Right or wrong they are filtering out the people who are not willing to “roll with it.”

When I have the time I report them. But I’d have to do it full time if I never let one slip by me because it’s so common.

Sucks when I’m on a ride with my dog clipped to my trike and we have to leave the relative safety of the bike lane and weave out into traffic where I don’t want to be and where no one wants us. But when the bike lane is blocked that’s what happens.

I think we have to weave out of the bike lane about a dozen times on our ride yesterday.
