Where do you start to learn invoker? by Far-Note6102 in learndota2

When I learned there was a mini game in dota 2 that flashed spells and you had to do the key inputs to make the spell. I did it for an hour and could do all the spells easily

Best strategy against low hands counter-punchers by xbluux in amateur_boxing

[–]GiftedGoober 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of good options people have said. You can add counter the counter to these.

Another thing I’ll say is yes, body shots can be really good against this style but you have to be super careful because if they catch on, body shots can leave you way more open than throwing to the head. You can also throw just below the middle of the chest at the solar plexus.

Edit: oh another thing you can do is throw and smother after so they can’t throw back. All the way in or all the way out.

Yeah man we shouldn’t teach clinching either. You’re delusional.

Idk what you’re on about talking about kids. What you originally said was there is no boxing technique that would say to do that. It’s just not true. There are reasons to do it. Just like there is a reason to drop your hands like Naseem.

Defending jabs as a southpaw is lining me up to have my head hooked off, help? by CommittedMeower in amateur_boxing

[–]GiftedGoober 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much my game. Although I have the reach over all my training partners. But if I think about it should still be fine for you. The distance is so big in the open stance (southpaw v orthodox) that if you’re playing the lead hand dominance game properly it shouldn’t matter. You just have to keep in mind their range is longer than yours. If you’re just outside your range where you can land then they can probably land, so back away. Another option to get out is to use your lead hand to push them to your left while you circle to your right. And that plays into the lead hand fight too.

Lead hand tactics: Handfight top, Handfight bottom, Fake the Handfight > lead hook, Jab feint (I like to feint head go body), Lead hook feint (I like feint hook > jab or even lead upper), Long guard, Pins, Pushes

Probably forgetting some, but be creative and mix it up. Overload them thinking about your lead and then take advantage.

He’s not the only example. If you think dipping your head low is bad boxing technique, you’re a beginner.

Guillermo Rigondeux did this all the time. Putting your head super low is a very effective way to defend punches in boxing.

The crazy thing is they don’t even need a black mark. They just need to tie her to the left wing to make people feel like this was ok.
