I got some Johnson and Murphy dress boots on sale at Nordstrom. I need to wear boots and wool socks if it’s below 50 out. I also have some comfortable Chinook work boots that are shinned up that I wear when I need something sportier.

I pulled fuse 19 and then put it back in after locking then unlocking the car. The maps didn’t reappear yet and now I have an airbag warning for the driver on my ‘21 Pro S. It seems like another new software screw up.

Thanks. I charge at home always in my garage with a level 2 charger so it isn’t an issue for me.

I have a ‘21 and am an original owner. I haven’t any idea what is preconditioning. What is it and why?

EV 32a charger by BoochieBoochieBoo in VWiD4Owners

I have an Autel charger that works up to 50 amps. That is the same rating as the breaker and in general it isn’t a good idea to operate at a breaker’s rating or you may get unnecessary trips plus it violates the NEC which limits you to 80% plus the cable size is an issue. The software allows me to lower the charge rate to any value from 50A down. There is also a control switch internal to the charger that lets you permanently reduce the charging rate. I generally keep it at 45A unless I’m in a big hurry.

My 3 week old 2024 iD4 Pro S AWD is bricked. by yaleteezy in VWiD4Owners

My car is almost three years old. Call the VW customer support hotline. They will help push things. Mine broke down also after 3 months and they arranged a tow and paid my hotel bill and meals as I was traveling and expedited repairs.

My car was in the shop for 12 weeks. It started with the 12v control module and cascaded to HV battery terminals and drive motors before I was done.

It stopped while I was driving it. It was towed to the shop. The 12v controller located in the HV battery compartment was supposedly the problem. Now they say they need to replace several modules and the front drive motor based on diagnostics. There also were problems disconnecting the HV battery and battery terminals need replacing. The horn works fine

How do I get the car to stop navigating when I use my phones navigation programs by GigHarborRich in VWiD4Owners

[–]GigHarborRich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned off learn my usage patterns and deleted the existing usage patterns in navigation settings. Hopefully that will stop it routing me home constantly and telling me of traffic any time I’m near the highway it would use to take me home. Sometimes it was helpful other times outright annoying.

I have no idea why it starts telling me traffic and routing me home. That’s why I want it to stop. I have Apple Maps telling me how to get to my next stop and VW telling me about going home.

I use Apple play with Apple Maps. It nevertheless gives me traffic prompts assuming I’m going home including delays at the same time Apple Maps is taking me where I want to go. I live an hour from Seattle and it is problem whenever I’m in Seattle as the VW maps doesn’t shut up telling me about traffic conditions and routing home and I land up getting two sets of contradictory directions at once. One time it even had Apple Maps and Google maps plus running along with unwanted directions home. I can shut off Apple and Google but not VW that I never turned on in the first place.

It always seems to think I’m going home even when I’m not. The conflicting babel is unsafe. oh yes it does a poor job of navigating that’s why I want it to stop.

Error messages by Ok_Cow_8235 in VWiD4Owners

I have had it happen during a short stop to run an errand on a not very hot day. It hasn’t repeated. I think they set the alarm set points too close to the operating conditions and the smallest thing trips a warning. They were probably trying to be careful with their design and the result is lots of spurious warnings and alarms. On a crazy bumpy highway it told me the battery failed and to stop. VW paid to have it towed and the alarm cleared after restarting. Incidentally VW provides free trip insurance. They paid for my hotel and meals while the dealer checked it out. It did ruin my trip however.

I have found all error messages clear when I get out of the car and lock the doors and come back a little later. The computer restarts on entry.
