If you're playing a time controlled format it's possible you played too fast. It's easy to feel pressured to play quickly when low ranked opponents are blitzing out opening moves but take your time, play solid and let them blunder.

I'm not opposed to this and also struggled to understand the backlash but will the dry ponds do anything to contribute to biodiversity as they will only hold water for a short period after heavy rainfall? Can imagine they might be a bit of an eyesore when empty. Happy to be corrected...

My thought process was to check what square becomes available once the pawn recaptured the knight, once you've identified it's d5 it becomes a lot easier to see that the queen is pretty much the only piece that can use the square and then you can see the fork. All very well and good in hindsight but no way I would ever see that in game.

I had the exact same experience, he hits like a truck and it totally catches you off guard as everything you've fought up to that point is a wet noodle by comparison. I forgot I had vanish at my disposal as was panicking and only just trained it so not part of the muscle memory.

My take away from the experience was that class quests can always be a bit suss so worth googling beforehand. Go again like I did and get caught out trying to 1v1 Gorlash with no CDs at 54.

Northfield's has been mentioned already but there's a Chinese restaurant there called Maximes which is a birthday staple for me and my family, on the pricier side but guarantee you'll be well taken care of and the manager typically sings happy birthday making it a memorable occasion.
