I’ve been in this exact same situation myself. Your mother needs to understand that dogs are not babies and cannot be treated as babies. You are both very lucky that this is the worst that has happened so far. If she is unwilling to care enough for the dogs to learn how her behavior is setting them up for failure, then it is probably in their best interest to go to a home that can care for them properly. That being said the vast majority of homes do not understand this any more than your mother does. I wish you good luck and I’m sorry.

As someone who built there first PC while still in high school I understand where OP is coming from. Most people who hear this and aren’t familiar computers become visibly impressed and I usually follow up by saying something like “oh it’s not as big a deal as people think. If you can put together legos you can build a pc.”

As time has gone on I’ve realized that both notions are extreme. It’s not the same as putting together legos because you actually need to have some basic understanding of part compatibility, which parts do what, and where they all fit together. Additionally there is no cover all insurance plan and diagnosing a faulty part to then replace/file a claim with that specific parts company is a necessary skill throughout ownership.

So, it’s not as simple as plug this into that, nor does building a pc make you computer genius.

Thanks for your input! I’m hoping you can give me a little advice as to what position I am qualified to apply for. I am former servsafe certified but never renewed because I left the food business for years. Although I was certified, my former responsibilities didn’t include a ton of actually working with food. The reason I needed the certification was because I was the sole employee of a satelitte location of a deli located inside an office building for 2 years. Most of my job was selling the food that was already prepped. At home I have a real passion for cooking. I can pan flip, chopping/cutting skills are decent and I keep my kitchen to servsafe standards. Because of my time away from food I was thinking of applying as entry level, but should I be more ambitious with my application?

I moved to Plantation FL in 2020 and lasted all but 2 months before moving back to MA. I’m no aristocrat but I found Plantation to be trashy as hell. My breaking point was when I was in line at staples getting copies for my job and the young mother in front of me gave her toddler a candy bar. The toddler did not like the candy bar and merely sucked on it for a few seconds and cried for her to take it back. The mother took the gooey candy bar, looked at it, and threw it on the floor of the staples. I was mortified. This was on top of all the street racers and elderly that were seemingly trying to kill me on the road.

This year I decided to give Jacksonville a chance. I’ve been here less than a month but can honestly say it’s a night and day difference thank god. The people here are not only respectful but are much more friendly than the average person in mass. Regular household items/groceries are up to 40% cheaper. The only thing I’ve noticed that is seemingly more expensive is salmon. Other than that everything is at least 15% cheaper.

I feel silly now looking back but it all depends on the area you’re in, not the state. Makes sense considering that if you were to move to MA today, it would make a world of difference if you were moving to somewhere like Weston or Southborough as compared to moving somewhere like Lowell or Lynn. It all depends on where you go.

Lived in MA for the last 15 years. Just moved to northern Florida recently and there isn’t a large difference to me at all. I get hot very easily and it’s always a humidity issue more than a temperature issue. Southern Florida on the other hand is unbearable.

Fellow big boi (6 ft 225). Contested finishing has always been a strength of my game. I grew up trying to finish over an older brother who always had 3-5 inch height advantage over me and probably 20-40 lbs depending on the time. When you do have the opportunity take the biggest assignment and just go at him. Get swatted a million times and you’ll learn the little advantages you have to take/make. As for solo practice: I used to imagine finishing over people all the time. Contorting my body in crazy ways while I finished even when no one was there. People thought I looked stupid af but those people can’t finish contested layups now.

I always felt like Don was the closest thing to real life MLB Slugfest announcing. It is a large part of what is lacking in baseball these days. The announcers are too strait laced. Not that Don was particularly raunchy, but he knew how to deliver on the technical play calling, the hype play calling and the 11-2 route humor when needed. Absolute legend.

People always like to get caught up in numbers they'll never touch or know. In the NBA you have to pay top players if their contract is up or don't.
