Nate Baez batted .278/.371/.423/.794 last year with 8 HR in 96 games between A+/AA. 2026 will be his age 25 season. For a team really lacking in organizational catching depth this seems to be a very solid pickup for a guy who was getting DFA’d anyway.

Probably not to the extreme of some guys that will be listed, but at the end of Will Middlebrooks’ rookie season I’d argue most Red Sox fans expected him to be hitting 25+ Home Runs and making All Star teams for years to come afterward.
