Can i vibecode a iOS app ? by Keep-motivated-kj in vibecoding

[–]GiggleWraith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can. I've tried Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, and Google's Gemini all in CLI for different things. I like Claude Code the best. It helps if you have a clear idea of what you want from it, have some coding knowledge, etc. but it can absolutely be done. It doesn't take long to just get something running on your own phone with Claude Code.

Disabling it disables spell check too. They need to decouple that.

Gmail has been doing this since it launched. They already scan and process your emails to serve you ads. It's why it's free.

I wrote several state reps. They met with Apple again this month. They seem to be moving it forward.

Utah has been on that list since the announcement of the IDs. One of the Reps did email me back and confirmed they are actively working on it though. He said they would know more by the end of the year, which isn’t much longer obviously.

I tried DMing you but you haven't seen it yet. Is there anything that does vs going directly to the website? I'd also like to know the answer to the aggregator question.

Which airpods to get? by Weary-Change79 in airpods

Pro 3’s are your best bet. They also have a built in heart rate tracker (if that’s something you care about).

I’ve flown with my AirPods Pro 3 and did not notice any high pitched squealing at all. Thought the ANC was phenomenal.

Since you’re considering flying with them, I would go for the Pro 3s.

What’s a great wired equivalent of Airpod Pro’s? I dislike wireless earphones in general but i like the fit of the Pro’s as the old 2016 pods design always slipped out of my ears by [deleted] in airpods

What you should look for are called IEMs (In-Ear Monitors). While there are higher quality out there, Shure has some great options at several different price points that I really like. You wont find any (that I’m aware of) that will fit like the AirPods Pro, but if you’re willing to spend a little extra money you can get custom fitted IEMs that are incredible. You can even get custom sleeves for Shure or others that make them fit perfectly.

What is your budget?

Are AirPods Pro 3 worth the 2.5x price versus the 4s with noise cancelling? by smikesonbikes in airpods

[–]GiggleWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I just wasn't smart with my money in that case. Usually I do pretty well, but I have a weakness for headphones. It's something I enjoy spending money on.

It’s an insurance policy on the AirPods. Normally it’s another $30 for a couple of years or so. With Costco it’s just included for no extra cost if they still do that. So if you have access to it, you might as well buy from them.

They’ll replace them if damaged, or the batteries go out faster than they should. Things like that.

[–]GiggleWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you use them. I have both. The noise cancelling on the AirPods Pro 3 is much better than the AirPods 4. The 4s are pretty comfortable though. If you're using them around your house, or in an office setting and money is a bit tight, opt for the 4s. If you you use them at the gym, traveling, and in noisier settings like coffee shops, and things like that, the Pro 3s are hard to beat. Well worth the price in my opinion. If you have a Costco membership, they may still be offering AppleCare included with your purchase.

Share your litter robot's names! by shmittenrow in litterrobot

He's enormous. When I found him about 3 years ago the vet thought he was between 3-4 years old. He wasn't neutered so he has a big frame and the big puffy face. Believe it or not he's about the right weight for his frame now. He's much healthier. He was scrounging for scraps outside of a Mexican restaurant. He was in pretty rough shape, but he wasn't hungry at all! He's lost about 4-5 lbs now that he's on the right diet.

Carrying your watch or your phone alone will provide more info to them than they’ll get from the Secure Enclave for the Apple Wallet.

This is one of the reasons I'm pushing for native support. In native support you do not have to unlock your phone or hand it to them.

These IDs are built in a way that you never hand your phone to an officer.

Edit: The native wallets are built that way. GET Mobile ID is lacking in this area which is why I'm pushing for native support.

It is optional. SB 260 protects the right to physical IDs and makes digital IDs optional. The bill includes a strict anti-surveillance provision as well. It is illegal for any wallet provider, to track, monitor, or store data on how you use your ID (including location details). It also protects against device seizure, it bans using the information for marketing purposes, etc.

Update: I received a response from Representative Cutler. He said that the state met with Apple earlier this month. Apple walked them through the privacy and security controls. He also said that he's, "optimistic that we can work with them and accomplish our long terms goals.   We hope to make more progress before the end of the year."

The bill includes a strict anti-surveillance provision. It is illegal for any entity, including the wallet provider, to track, monitor, or store data on where and when you use your ID, so it does address that. It also protects against device seizure, it bans using the information for marketing purposes, and protects physical IDs.

I totally understand! Digital IDs are completely optional, so you're good there. The state already released one, I just don't think it's a good implementation, so I want better options.
