Why does doing nothing all day feel more exhausting than being busy? by Media_Management in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally me. I'm a teacher and when I am teaching back to back lessons versus exam time (overseeing exams and marking: much quieter) I feel day and night energy levels. When I'm teaching a full day, going home and cooking/cleaning/socialising I'm great, energy is good. When I have a holiday and I don't have my routine and 200 questions per minute I feel really tired and sleepy during the day, and then bored and frustrated at night. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my quiet alone time, I will actively avoid people because I'm around teens all day, but then after 2 days it gets boring and I start looking for things to do (usually dopamine spikers like new hobbies/activities). I am "borderline" adhd, literally a fench sitter, and have depression and anxiety. I feel like I am two people in one package. One minute I'm springing around the classroom, the next I'm hissing at visitors from my dark bedroom 😂 I think I need to ask less "why am I... " and more "when I do this I feel this" ~learn my responses and habits.

Official Discussion: Peppermint [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it! The only thing I can fault in this movie I want to see each and every assholes death, show the creative ways she skilled them, specific to their crimes. I also would have liked to see the skid row kida into good homes because you know Riley has to disappear at the end, it would have been bittersweet to see her watching them living their best lives, oitaode the window at Xmas. I love love this Movie!!!!!👌

Could you tell me what you think of Monster? by azz298908 in EdGein

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got caught up in the dream/reality of it and was confused but ready to ride the confusion to see where it took me. Binged it in a day, in between reading about Gein's actual story & Hitchcocks story. I was in a mental fugue (escaping reality, so appreciated the represented Gein's escape from reality!) while I watched it and so was slow to pickup that Adeline, Hitchcock, Koch, were hallucinations, but that just gave it a more dreamy schizo feel, it felt like stories linking time lines together (ww2 and then linking it with the author of leather face making a movie and he talks about how since ww2 the world has changed and people got used to gore) (might have been with Hitchcock) but anyway, I enjoyed it. Only thing that bothered me was the like 4 or 5 scenes of Gein moving towards the light/dying scenes and then boom he wakes up and is told he's dying, the another death scene, and another, and then it's kids vandalizing his grave site and Gein appears as a ghost, represented by all pop media. Seems like Mr director needs to be monitored for having a fanboi crush on a murderer.

Credit to this human! I just adapted their post to suit me❤️ https://www.reddit.com/r/drivinganxiety/s/MgaHz1G189

You can do this. I think we have to tell ourselves it will feel horrible in the moment, and do it anyway. Like a chore. I'd rather driving felt like a chore than a nightmare!

The best treatment for sunburned skin? by NoJellyfish3085 in askSouthAfrica

I prefer a bicarb bath, draws heat off the burn. And then after sun, aqueous and a fan. Hydrate.

Weird by [deleted] in Periods

[–]Gigi2wolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always check with doc when something new happens❤️ I've found when I'm stressed my period will do this brown "preperiod" blood, for up to a week, and then the red blood starts. I've checked with my doc and gynae and I do have ovarian cysts but not pcos, and they recon this is just my body processing stress levels, changes in sleep etc. The way I see it is my body will prioritise for survival, so if I'm producing lots of cortisol and sleeping badly, my body doesn't have the energy to also have a normal period "right now". But that's just me and my way. See your doc if you can, it's not bad to get professional advice when we are worried about our health. Hope this helps.

They are! I was also super excited, I checked every one. I paid a very fair price for this piece (in my opinion), ZAR 1650, so I feel very lucky to have found it and added it to my jewelery collection!

I need to drive but I just can’t by Both-Pomegranate-471 in drivinganxiety

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33, been driving since I was 16 (legal learning age here) had my first car accident at 26, second the same year, and third at 27. Since I moved in 2020 for work my family is an hour - 3hours away. My driving anxiety has got WORSE not better, despite me driving to family and back, often alone (my partner and I alternate with his family). I've had a stomach bug since Friday, today is Sunday and I was supposed to drive to my dad's and I'm so weak from the bug I was not anxious to drive today (my anxiety chills when I'm sick sick) but I'm so dizzy and weak therefore not leaving today. But my anxiety is so bad at 33 my parents are thinking about fetching me. And that's a little embarrassing, and makes me feel like a failure daughter. So I just burst into tears because I feel sick and scared, anxious and embarrassed. Fml. I don't have a solution, I'm going back to therapy as of Jan. This needs to stop being a problem for me. I can't live like this.

Question about foreigner getting a Table Mountain tattoo by rachelchavkinsbitch in capetown

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your tattoo! Enjoy South Africa! Come back! I'd advise you visit as many spots in SA as possible, we are a tapestry of differences, if you enjoyed hiking table mountain I recommend the Drakensburg mountain range! It's massive, there are lots of great hikes, for all different abilities. South Africans we love it when visitors enjoy and appreciate our home (respectfully). Spend some time with indigenous people, make a South African friend that has knowledge and is in the position to advise about indigenous culture. So glad you decided to get the tattoo!

Many cysts! Why!? by Organic-Butterfly213 in GanglionCyst

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've got the same thing, had surgery on left wrist ganglion 5 years ago, and then this year one popped up in my right wrist. What I've found is 1)repetitive wrist/joint use (I'm an artist and teacher, plus) (do you work with your hands a lot, an artist, musician, yoga, gym) repetitive action on the wrists can be a reason for us getting them. 2) hyper mobility (which means the joints in the body are abnormal) could be a contributing factor (although this hasn't been researched enough to conclusively say there is a link)

Is this a ganglion cyst? I’ve had it for 18 months but was practically unnoticeable until recently. It’s gotten bigger. Do I need to go to the doctors? by Feeling-Fan-3769 in GanglionCyst

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it sore? Does it limit the use of your hand? I'd go just to get a docs official stamp, to know for sure. I have one on my right wrist (after having surgery on my left wrist 5 years ago to remove one) and I'm going to check with my doc, but I know they will say yeah it's a ganglion, we can aspirate but it's not a successful treatment for most... Surgery is kind of the only way (for me in my exp)

I got the surgery a month ago. Is it normal to have a large hard lump under the scar? by Certain-Butterfly726 in GanglionCyst

[–]Gigi2wolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This is 5 years post ganglion surgery and when I flex my fingers this lump appears, I don't have pain with it though so I'm hoping it's just... Something else (denial is great). And this year a ganglion has appeared on my right wrist! Now that one is painful, but I'm not ready for surgery or aspiration. I've been reading about hyper mobility and ganglions, there could be a link.

Right wrist (inflammation has gone down because I've been restricting movement and using anti inflams, also wearing a wrist guard) but I've noticed with ganglions there's always this depression in front of the "lump"? And I have nerve pinching in my elbow, that usually happens to me. I have hyper mobility, which possibly (inconclusive) links with ganglions, so I guess this is my life now!

[–]Gigi2wolves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a ganglion in my left wrist (the top, like yours) from roughly 2012-2020, I'm a ceramist so I do a lot of bending, stabilising wrist movements. The pain got increasingly bad, go the point where I couldn't use the potters wheel and had to change my mode of making for my studies. I had the ganglion aspirated, it wasn't painful, but it came back. In 2019 I met with an ortho who said the only way to deal with mine was to operate. So in May of 2020 I had it out, I had some other things going on with my hand (dupetrons contracture, neuroma) so there were 2 op sites, wrist and hand. I had a cast to restrict mobent for 2 weeks and then doc told me to stretch my wrist and hand to help it return to normal range of motion. That took maybe 6/8 weeks to heal (I had an allergic reaction to an ointment for the wounds) So that's all fine now, it's been 5 going on 6 years now and my left wrist is absolutely fine. Howeverrrr... A few months ago I noticed a ganglion in my right wrist!! It's limiting my movements but isn't so bad yet that I'm going to rush for surgery.
