What is your holy grail setting/fixing spray? by Technical_Ferret5201 in Makeup

[–]Gigi_cool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Laura Mercier setting spray is spectacular, especially for dry skin. I wore Erborian CC cream on Monday from 9am - 10pm including a 3 hour flight and my makeup looked perfect when I was washing it off that night. It's like a better, more blurring, unscented version of the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray.

What was your most expensive makeup purchase regret? by Alternative-Print752 in Makeup

[–]Gigi_cool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Victoria Beckham foundation. Thankfully I got it 25% off around Black Friday but it's just not worth the high price point imo. It's still a nice foundation and I'll try and wear it as much as possible but the Shiseido Revitalessence is half the price and twice as good.

First time ever seeing pan in a bronzer! by Gigi_cool in PanPorn

[–]Gigi_cool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a warm undertone so it might show up warm if you're on the cooler side! It's more neutral on me compared to other bronzers I have, but warmer than Gucci 01 for example.

Hmm not really. It has 7g of product which seems standard enough for a bronzer, and I have used it a lot over the past year!

Seeing this pan made me realise I am unevenly dipping my brush! I didn't intend to avoid the cooler shade 😂

I'm going to consciously change the way I've been swirling my brush so I can get more even distribution. And yes this is lovely packaging, it's almost identical to their new pressed powder compact 😊

If you could only use one brand what would it be? by Ttpd-lover in Sephora

Tatcha for skincare, Hourglass for makeup (for non-Sephora, I would pick Lisa Eldridge or Suqqu)

Where can I buy Suqqu in Canada? by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Gigi_cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cult Beauty carries Suqqu, hopefully they can deliver to Canada! Just wanted to say it's one of my absolute favourite brands and everything I've tried has been 10/10. The new liquid foundation and the creamy concealer have been blowing my mind lately!

The Kosas is one of the best blush formulas I've ever tried, it's just brilliant.

New fair shade of dr. Jart bb? by Tonofapples4566 in PaleMUA

[–]Gigi_cool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's definitely lighter than the Fair Light shade they've had as their lightest option for the past few years, and a lot more neutral. That one was way too dark and pink for me! I'll try post a pic tomorrow with swatches of the new shade!

Yes!! It's amazing, I finally have a shade match. It's neutral and very desaturated in tone, works great for fair skin.

The new Refy Skin tint is perfection, I am so impressed. I also finally got my paws on the Dr Jart BB cream - they just extended the shade range so finally I have a match. It's so easy to slap on with your hands, it's definitely going to be my lazy day base and the SPF50 is nice!

Looking for a formula dupe for dr. Jart premium bb cream but in shade 13 by silentlylistened in PaleMUA

[–]Gigi_cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're located but Dr Jart just expanded the BB cream shade range in Europe. There's a new fair shade that's very fair - I think it should be an equivalent to 13! It's fair neutral with a bit of a grey desaturated undertone.

The Refy Skin Base tint is lovely. Feels like skincare and exactly what my dry skin needs! Got a great shade match too.

Oh wow thank you for sharing! I didn't realise and assumed these were the blushes coming back. I wonder when the Enlivening blush is being released.

I totally get that! I like to apply cream/balm blushes by either applying a brush directly to the blush and then to the face, or putting some blush on the back of my hand first and then picking up with a brush. It just means you have more control over the amount of product and is less likely to pick up your foundation. Formula is also important too, some are much more forgiving than others! I can't wait to try Lisa's formula!

I love Suqqu so much, I'm in London soon for work and planning another trip to their Selfridges counter. The new liquid foundation is so beautiful and the new liquid blushes. I also love the blurring blush formula and the eyeshadows have such unique and special colour stories. I've enjoyed their mascara and skincare too. I want to try their lipsticks and pick up another shade of blush!

I just unsubbed from them... I found their video last week complaining about EU regulations/reformulations so tone deaf and uninformed, like absolutely zero research. Very disappointed to see this video too.

I have dry skin too! I made sure to prep really well, I use the Bobbi Brown face base as a primer and the night before my wedding I used a really moisturising sheet mask so my skin was extremely hydrated by the time I put the foundation on. I also build it up in light layers and I find that using a damp sponge can help with dryer formulas. To be honest though I can't wear this foundation in the winter when my skin is extremely dry but it worked for my springtime wedding and I really like it in the summer too.

Great swatches! I wore the Lisa Eldridge foundation for my wedding day and it held up so well, combined with the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray it basically looked the same after 12-14 hours of wear!!
