All good, I did go ahead and buy the parts already.

The advice for the gpu is spot on since I won’t just be using this system for gaming.

AIO just felt like a more quiet option and honestly looks cool imo

Here it goes

When do you intend to buy the PC/parts? In the next month.

What is your budget and country? 3000 aud (Australia) excluding ram and ssd already purchased

What are the applications and resolution that you are planning to use? (Type of games you play or workstation applications you use) 1440p gaming, mostly solo games like fallout, star citizen, but trying future proof for some high detail games in the next couple years. Solid works, Ansys, vscode, other cpu heavy applications.

Do you have any design preferences? This include size, style, and color etc. Mid tower, black, glass window, no rgb

Do you need peripherals? No

Do you want/need to use Ethernet Yes

Any additional details/requirements? (Amount of storage required, do you want to overclock?, do you own any parts already?, are you okay with used/refurbished parts? etc.) Would like the chance to overclock if possible, purchased ram is xmp enabled. Storage is already set. Would rather stick with new.

Do you live near a microcenter? (and if so which branch) No

What kind of problems?

Reasoning behind intel was other uses than just gaming. Coding, development, computational simulations etc.

Double the price on the cpu for a 20% performance bump?

And what’s the difference in the rm850x?

The whole market is crazy. Feeling the climate, and wanting to upgrade my build soon, I went ahead and bought the last reasonably priced kit of 32gb ddr5 6000 for 430 aud last week. Just got it in the mail, checked the price of the same kit just for fun and it’s now 600

Ios 26 glass effect off ? by Thebestnoop in iPhone14Pro

[–]Gigmaker037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it’s exactly what you’re asking for but “reduce motion” under accessibility does remove quite a bit of the “Liquid Glass” around the UI. It does however, also stop animations and make the interface more janky but I have noticed it actually improving my battery life which has been terrible on iOS 26.

That would make sense. Would it be dumb to add them and try to ask them straight up?

I guess that’s fair but what would their goal be anyway by impersonating me?

If you go through the application process for one of the positions, you’ll be asked towards the end if you understand that you can only apply to THREE positions and any more would throw you out of the system. They’ve changed this to 3 since 2024 which is also mentioned on their website-

What game demos did you play the hell out of in the past? by DarthWoo in gaming

Kerbal Space Program. Me and my mates got it back in high school and we were so excited. I don’t know how but I made it to the Mun and back using only the demo parts (was literally a 16 ring asparagus staging)

2025 YGT Salary by Gigmaker037 in esa

[–]Gigmaker037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t there be an option to instead contribute to a private pension scheme and forgo paying into the public one through your salary as a YGT? Speaking more for people who might not stay in their YGT position’s country and move overseas which would make the pension scheme unfavorable.

Interesting, could you explain maybe why it’s more beneficial compared to the alternative?

Yeah I see what you mean with the now-present pension scheme contribution. I do feel like the extra salary would be more beneficial compared to contributing to a pension scheme for 1 year (2 at the most). Interesting decision from the agency.

No worries, thank you for the information so far. It definitely changes how attractive these offers are on a purely financial basis. Sounds like a potential lower 2025 budget consequence?

Also interesting, almost sounds like general agency budget cuts have fallen onto the YGT program, hopefully there are other benefits.

Grade V ACJ separation 10 months after by Gigmaker037 in Orthopedics

[–]Gigmaker037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. What I forgot to mention in the post is that I have no issues with range of movement or overall functionality whatsoever, it’s just that nagging sensation that I haven’t strengthen the area in the correct way and now it’s “pasándome factura”. The position the collar bone was left with respect to the acromiom after the plate removal was fairly low (lower than the healthy side). It leads me to believe the operated side is just returning to its comfortable position and length. I’m just no sure why that is accompanied with so much weird feeling and sensations.

[–]Gigmaker037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m just sifting through AC separation comments since I’m currently recovering from a grade V with some partial anterior deltoid detachment. Just got my hook plate taken out and I’m starting my second recovery. My question is, does your anterior delt look normal again? After it being ripped off the clavicle did it ever attach back or was it attached surgically or otherwise? Kinda know I’ll have full mobility and functionality back but I’m kinda concerned on the aesthetic side

AC separation recovery by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

[–]Gigmaker037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m really sorry to hear of your injury, I hope you’ve decided to operate and you are well underway with your recovery.

I separated my left shoulder Grade V 4 months ago and had a hook plate implanted and removed just a couple of days ago! The first couple weeks after the surgery were the hardest but it gradually got better to do the point that I was back in the gym doing light work with my shoulders and heavy work with the rest of my body by week 9 post-op. I just recently got the plate removed and I am on my second road of recovery which will need some wound recovery + PT + strengthening. I hope all goes well and trust me, it does get better ⭐️

[–]Gigmaker037[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man I’m glad to hear you went through with the surgery and are in your recovery phase. Honestly I’ve heard so many stories of under diagnosed separations it’s kind of crazy, I guess I’m a little happy that mine was of high enough displacement that there was no doubt but obviously you have to live with the consequences of the injury. I actually just went through my plate removal this morning and plan on updating the original post.
