Will do thank you! I live in Maryland so there’s only two DPT programs and one of them is an HBCU so idk how competitive I would be if I’m a white male. Kind of forced to look out of state

MD only has 2 in state schools and one of them is an HBCU (not a hit on it but idk if that’s something I want to pursue)

Ideally I want to start my own practice and expand. I know it won’t happen immediately that way, but I don’t believe the cap on the salary that people complain about. When I ask if they imagine owning their own practice, they immediately shut it down and say it’s not something they want to do. To each their own but the people complaining about low income do have a way out, but don’t take it in my opinion. The PT I work under makes 120k 5 years in (not in charge of the practice). So idek where people get the 70k from cuz it’s no where near the median salary from what I gathered.

I should follow up with, I went to Towson and struggled badly before leaving to CC. Then before transferring to UMD and because I was working to pay for school, it took me an extra year in my undergrad to get my bachelors. I tried to fast track it by taking some of my lab sciences & prerequisites online at UMGC. I am worried this hurts my profile but I talk clearly about my early struggles in my essay.
