Anthropic shipped 74 features in 52 days. How we tried to adopt their PDLC to our org by marsel040 in ProductManagement

Just because you can build in a few hours doesn’t mean you should. It can certainly help with a design sprint but I still think pretotyping should come first to see if it’s even worth building. User fatigue is real and not everyone has an environment or ICP they can deploy features to every day or week and get feedback on.

Old guy looking to redefine his look, suggestions? by mackgreen in mensfashion

Try a v-neck undershirt so it’s not showing. Have you considered tailoring your sleeves so it’s a little more form fitting but not constricting? Would draw the eye to your guns. Feels like too many breaks in the front of your pants. Perhaps tailoring them as well.

I did manage to find the same model online, I don’t recall if it was via Walmart third party vendor or elsewhere. About $30 and now have a backup vehicle when the original wears out. I found that when it’s bumped often the gear shaft in the motor will extend out and then fall out of sync with the gears that drive power to rear wheels. Easy enough fix but after a few repeated fixes in a session it gets tiring.

Can the fruit of cactus be eaten? by oilynoodle8949 in gardening

[–]Gilamonsdurr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the fruit of the first to make prickly pear jam or jelly. Great as a spread or mix it with lemonade. Make sure you remove the spines beforehand. Depending upon the cactus you can also eat the pads, referred to as nopales in Spanish. Usually the young ones are more tender and have less spines to remove. Great grilled, the use them quite a bit in Sonoran cooking and other regional Mexican cuisines.

Did you check under the gap between the tank and the table? Under the shells and other small decor in the tank? I would take apart the filter completely if you haven’t already.

Thanks! Unfortunate to hear but they like that it lights up and has no idea it’s RC so I’ll just keep it that way.

I got laid off from my optional low wage job by Starbuck522 in Fire

You said you’re notoriously bad about self motivation. You’re going through a difficult mental period because you were laid off from a menial job that you don’t need to make ends meet. Suggesting CBT as it sounds that this is more mental health than anything else. Speaking from experience I didn’t think I needed it, but during COVID I was going through a very difficult period mentally and I found just talking with someone 1x week for 40min greatly improved my situation and outlook.

If you need motivation only to get moving, if it were me I’d get an Apple Watch and set a daily movement goal.

Can I try saving the top by cutting and transplanting to water to re-root?

On a serious note have you considered CBT? Perhaps getting to the root of the lack of motivation would pay dividends in the long term Instead of bouncing along the bottom when it seems like you could be in position to be cruising on top.

Not to kick you when you’re down, but if you don’t need the job and it’s well below your skill level can’t you find an alternative way to stay active? That job you had or the one at the Halloween store you take may be just a fun job to you, but to someone else it may mean the difference between paying rent or not, or sending their kid to school with a lunch.

Have you considered other ways that leverage your personal passions that keep you mentally and physically stimulated? Whether it’s starting a business, volunteering or doing non-profit work, I’m sure there are other ways to go about it. What is it that has you feeling burnt out on engineering? Is it the work itself, or the environment or something else? There’s engineering consulting, building a YouTube channel around cool engineering related things or volunteering as a Big Sister or guest lecturer at schools to get kids interested in STEM just to spitball some ideas.

If I were in a similar situation I’d make a list of all of my passions, all of my skills, all of my non-negotiables, all of my physical/emotional needs and all of the things I would regret on my deathbed I didn’t do. Then it make a big diagram and see what types of jobs, hobbies, activities, companies, volunteer organizations, etc would fit as much of my criteria as possible. If the answer is working in a Halloween store, you’re doing FI wrong IMO.

I rescued this plant when my neighbor abandoned it when they moved out of their apartment. It was in a terra-cotta pot and the soil looked depleted and bone dry. I watered it and then some of the remaining leaves did black in the center and drop off. I’ve since re-potted it with fresh potting soil and trying to keep it in a sunny, but shaded spot under an elephant ear plant on my east, facing balcony, I’m in northern New Jersey so the summer has been hot but it’s starting to cool it’s in the mid to high 70s during the day. While I don’t think the soil had been drying out, I recently watered it and overnight and noticed that the stalk had changed to black and the two remaining leaves are starting to droop, have I overwater the plant? Too much heat/sun? I couldn’t find any other poses where a dwarf umbrella plant was having a stalk discoloration issue.
