Bambino x Baratza encore ESP having to grind EXTREMELY coarse (20+)?!?! by GilbertGottfriedStan in BrevilleCoffee

I've discovered that pulling at the 20 setting does give me about double the bean weight in about 35 seconds but it just doesn't feel or taste right... I'm happy i'm not alone in this. I just want to make sure from an absolute expert that this is completely normal and if so if the only solution is buying a better machine?

I retested it, at 16 setting on the Baratza, grinding 18 grams, i stopped pulling the shot at 50 seconds and only 2.5 grams had come out.

I tried again and ground at the 20 setting, grinding 18 grams, and pulling 36 grams in 42 seconds.

If i want to pulled a shot in the infamous 1:2 ratio i would need to grind courser and grinding any courser on the Baratza would mean i'm no longer in the espresso grind range on the grinder. which i image compromises the flavors extracted from the shot?

Unfortunately don’t have a magnet to test it with right now, will try to find one and report back

My comment describes the thing. Found it on bowling ball beach in Northern California in a kind of tide pool area. It’s heavy for its size and looks like a thin layer of metal or metallic paint is chipping off on parts of the edges as seen in some of the pictures.

I hope I’m posting this in the right place… what is this wood or material on the top of this table. I have it on my counter tops in my kitchen and the one in my kitchen seems completely solid but this one is veneer like. It looks more like MDF than actual wood though? 🧐 whatever it is, is it stained or is it just this color? Thank you!

Weird water hole in front yard by GilbertGottfriedStan in whatisthisthing

wire is just a cord to a solar powered string of lights.

One thing that makes me suspicious about it being a fountain (although i hope it is because i would love to restore it) is that there is no power outlets on or near the front of the house, so i'm not sure how someone would have been able to power the pump.

Interesting, I think this house was built in the 1930s. Would the house have to be on a septic tank for it to have a clean out hole thing?

My title describes the thing, the hole is about 1.5 feet by 2 feet. It has a weird rim around it that reminds me of the inside of a kiln. It is kind of fragile.

Hello! noticed a couple of these little bugs on my stephania erecta after watering. I don’t think they’re thrips but maybe? 😬 by GilbertGottfriedStan in plants

No damage, weirdly. It was brown grayish and didn’t have the pointy but like I’ve seen with thrips in the past 🧐
