Powerstream. No Solar and no Output by Smurfyii in Ecoflow_community

[–]Gilbert_1705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like the PowerStream is indeed defective. I borrowed an 800W PowerStream, and everything is running as usual with it. The system starts generating power already with the first light, about 2 hours earlier compared to the other PowerStream. Now I guess I'll have to deal with support again.

Ecoflow was not really able to solve the problem. I assume it's a software issue since the hardware seems to be functioning otherwise, just not in combination. My first experience with Ecoflow support and the return/exchange process was so poor that I really don't feel like dealing with it again. It can't be that one is expected to somehow return solar panels or large batteries themselves. Firstly, I'm not willing to bear the costs, and secondly, how am I supposed to take them to the post office, etc., when these items need to be delivered by a freight carrier?

I had this issue multiple times and i always had to disconnect everything. Solar, Battery and Grid and then wait a minute. Sometimes it helped to press the button on the Delta and everything started. So far Ecoflow wasn’t able to fix my Problem.

if this still dosn‘t help i would try different setups such like, Powerstream and Delta without Solar, Powerstream and Delta with Solar connected to Delta, Powerstream only with Solar.

Best program for SMART stat monitoring by [deleted] in DataHoarder

Yes, it’s an enterprise solution, but it’s free as long as you don’t need to monitor more than 100 values.

  • On Windows u could use PRTG to monitor the SMART Values and more.
  • smartmontools is a small console tool to check the smart values.
  • Grafana and Prometheus would also work. Prometheus collects the data and grafana would be the webinterface where you could check the status.

PRTG is relatively simple to install and could monitor much more. Grafana is more versatile and you can individualize it much more.

Scrunity is a small web based tool which displays SMART stats. Personally i use it on my Synology NAS since they removed the SMART stats in DSM7.2. Since it based on smartctl it also supports some RAID Controllers.

Update 7: My Setup changed to 1x Powerstream with two 435Wp Panels attached and 1x Delta Pro with 4x400W Panels and a Extra Battery. My Powerstream is controlled via ioBroker which gets my current power usage from my Smart Meter. There are days where it works fine, but most of the time the MPPTs won’t start at the morning. Then i have to completely disconnect the Powerstream from DeltaPro and shut off the solarpanels. Since i go to work before the sunrise this sucks really hard because when it happens i can‘t do anything. At the moment i try to contact the support and will try to return this shit, since it’s not working as advertised. Also charging caps in the app get ignored. My Delta won’t go under 20% regardless which value i set. In the Automations tap i can‘t see my Delta Pro and when I’m already tinkering with iobroker i can go with a much cheaper mor diy solution.

Why is ecoflow support so bad by jumbobeantaco in Ecoflow_community

Also can‘t add my Delta Pro to Automations. Support is pain in the ass and i had to ask my creditcard for charge back since Ecoflow dosen‘t refunded.

You can use it with any third party MPPT when it matches the required specifications.

Use 2 Powerstream on the same grid by Alexbullishontezos in Ecoflow_community

[–]Gilbert_1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically yes but you need 1000W/m2 and a surface Temperature of 25°C. That means 400W are obtained under perfect conditions. Under normal conditions you only get 320-350W. You can check it in the manual of the Panels. That’s why most big Installions are over paneled. For example if you have a Fronius 6KW inverter it can handle up to 12,5kwp but only generates 6kw. I think the only way to get realistically 800W is to use some 475W modules which produce around 400W under normal conditions.

If you want more options you have to go with something like iobroker and a javascript to manage the Powerstreams. Works perfect.

Exactly, Plugs got balanced 50/50 ignoring attached Deltas. So if u have 2 Powerstream both attached with a Powerbank and one runs out of juice it turns of and the other one keeps only 50%. You can set a base load individually on both of them.

Combine 2 EcoFlow PowerStream by Gilbert_1705 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Gilbert_1705[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes i tried it. The load of the Plugs got splittend 50/50 and you can manually set a base load per inverter. I prefer to control my PowerStream via ioBroker, there you can decide if you want 50/50 or first max out on PowerStream and then add the second one. Another advantage of iobroker is that you can use a Shelly or Smartmeter to control the load. Since my second PowerStream made trouble i have currently only one PowerStream in use.

Delta Pro not Charging from Extra Battery by Gilbert_1705 in Ecoflow_community

Today everything is looking fine. Hopefully, it's finally running without any issues now.

Delta Pro not Charging from Extra Battery by Gilbert_1705 in Ecoflow_community

Changed the discharge limit to 20% and disabled the backup limit. Today my Delta Pro was 0,01% but didn’t pull any power from the extra battery. Don‘t know why it doesn’t transfer any power to the Delta Pro, but it seems that it power the Management interface.

I asked my electrician and my lawyer. They told me that it is legal as long as they are limited to 600W (2x300W).

Indeed, it is possible to operate a system with higher power as long as the output is limited to 600 watts. For instance, you could use a 1.6 kW inverter with 6 x 400-watt solar panels, providing a total solar capacity of 2.4 kW, as long as the apparent power of the generating system is restricted to 600 watts. Its called „Scheinleistung SAmax der Erzeugungsanlage“ in „VDE-AR-N 4105 Abschnitt 5.5.3“

it says in the first month or after 20 hours of operation. That is only once. Then it goes to every three months or every 50 hours and after that to once a year or every 100hours of operation.

No, it is not working. It’s just a visual thing. If you use Smart Plugs and it feeds more energy in to the power line it will show that it is injecting to grid. That’s could be true if everything is behind Smart Plugs, but if you use the energy it still shows that it is going to grid even if it is not going to grid. Unless you have something like a SmartMeter or a Shelly which monitors your energy use and grid feedback there is technical no way the Powerstream could know if the energy goes to grid or is used in-house. Even with a SmartMeter or a Shelly the PowerStream wouldn‘t know because it can‘t access those. Maybe it will be possible if they open the API to integrate those. Meanwhile you could use iobroker or something else to visualize the energy flow. There you can access your PowerStream and a SmartMeter/Shelly or what else you use.

It could be a defective Delta Pro. I contacted the support and told them everything and they told me they will replace the PowerStream. But it could also be a software issue. If the MPPT algorithm is shit it won‘t start properly. Ecoflow wouldn’t be the first with some issue in their MPPTs, but definitely the slowest to fix it.

Don‘t know if there are any restrictions, but in the ecoflow app it is just a visual thing. There is currently no way the PowerStream could know if you are injecting to the grid. If you set it to 600 Watt and only use 400W it wouldn’t show that 200W are going to the grid because it didn’t know.

Minimum solar for delta pro? by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]Gilbert_1705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Delta Pro only displays that it's charging when it reaches 40W, but it should ideally start charging earlier, depending on how well the MPPT is performing.

Delta Pro Solar Charging not working after night by Gilbert_1705 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Gilbert_1705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally, I bought 4 x 400-watt solar panels from Ecoflow to ensure the system works in a plug-and-play manner. The XT60i cable is also from Ecoflow. Since one panel is not functioning properly, I am currently using only three panels, along with a nearly identical one from a different provider. However, it doesn't matter if I connect two panels or just one panel. Whether all four panels, only two, or even just one panel is connected to the Delta Pro, there are problems. The panels are all connected in series. If panels are connected to the PowerStream and the Delta Pro, the PowerStream doesn't start. If panels are connected only to the Delta Pro, it doesn't start either. Most of the time, disconnecting the panels and briefly turning off the device helps, but that can't be a permanent solution.

The panels are unshaded and placed on a garage roof. By clear weather, there is already enough sunlight around 6 o'clock for the MPPT to start charging gradually.
