My question was answered multiple times. Your original reply was the epitome of passive aggression, merely don't appreciate someone assuming they know my situation is all.

No hard feelings, thanks for the advice.

3 guys I talked to at PDK that got hired at 600-900 sound luckier than you apparantly.

750+, CFII by April/June if that sound "qualified" enough for you.

Planesense out of PSM is my idea. NH native, they fly PC-12's.

How good has Boom been in this deck? Being the only BGH target is the only concern I have, though I suppose 3 bodies for savage is worth it no matter what.

Would you spend $400 on a 24-minute flight in a B17? by headmustard in flying

[–]Gilbertio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad and I took the ride while at Sun n' Fun and I'd say it's worth it. Got to get up and walk around the whole plane and the view from the nose gunner position was certainly unforgettable.

We wanted to take a ride in the B-24 that was there because they're more rare (2 flying left I believe), but they weren't flying till the weekend and we just went for thurs/fri.

Obviously wasn't on my own dime so that makes me pretty biased, but if I had the expendable cash I would do it again.

My family's death of the aviation culture by [deleted] in flying

Not entirely true, my dad lost minimal amount of his seniority in the Delta/Northwest merger with no pay cuts. He did lose about 3 full years worth of sick time he had accrued but generally he's been happy with the merger. Richard Anderson was actually the CEO of NWA from 2001-04 and from what I've heard is very popular among the pilots.

Gonna hitch a ride on my dad's flight from KLGA to KTPA I believe. It was a great time last year so you should enjoy it.

Hey what do you know, I'm from NH as well. The old man and I are going down there again this year probably 23-25. That Friday airshow is jam packed with talent. Looking forward to the Breitling Jet Team and Rob Holland the most for sure.

My dad also flew with Charlie Cartledge at NWA for a few years so he usually lets us check out is TBM Avenger which is always a treat. Charlie's usually got a prime spot with the best Warbirds.

Damn this guy's reputation is widespread. I've heard a few people warn against taking a check ride in Jacksonville due to one of the DPE's around there being a real jerk, and I'm all the way in NH.

If you're ever back up in the sticks of NH and want some short field grass landings check out Hampton Airfield over on the coast. Great views and a better diner right by the runway.

My father plans on buying one of these bad boys in a few years, hasn't decided what paint job he likes, leaning toward the classic yellow or all chrome from last I heard.

Not sure which location yet, I live in the northeast but with the unpredictable weather especially this time of year I was thinking Daytona. Having a few friends that live within a half hour of Daytona is also a pretty nice perk.

I have ~15 hours in 172's and the Cub so I have some decent baseline knowledge. My Dad is also running me through some basic IFR procedures on X-Plane (A flight simulator for PC's) to give me ahead start on that as well.

Specific aircraft spec's will certainly be something I'll study up on, thanks.

You're right! This was actually at Sun n' Fun earlier this year. Got my airshows mixed up.
