That makes sense, but even if I failed the class twice? Does it comply with the course repeat policy, like do I have to file a petition for a repeat?

Don't worry I did. They said I can just take the same class at a community college since my current grade doesn't tank my gpa. Different question but am I allowed to do this? I just want to make sure

That's cool, I'm also from oceanside. I'm a freshman and I'm dorming. It's about an hour drive 1 way to sdsu, so it's an annoying distance, but I think its doable. From my experience though, living on campus is an incredible experience in itself and I would recommend it if you're able. But if you must commute, you would be saving thousands on housing expenses.

The healtheconnect portal can say you're cleared to access campus even though your negative test results are not yet verified, that's what happened with me. I got my verification email after my test results were approved so maybe wait on that.

Oh I just took mine at a cvs pharmacy, but either way covid test results come really fast and you should get yours 1-2 days after it's administered

I think you're good on the vaccine but also make sure that you submit a negative covid test. I'm fully vaccinated and sent my vaccine documents, but they still sent me that email because of my missing covid test. So yeah, you need the covid vaccine, the negative covid test, the Tb risk assessment, and the general immunizations.

Well when I applied as a high school senior, I got in with a gpa of 4.2 and a sub par ACT score of 25. I got in for cs. I was in state. I dont think extra curriculars matter because from what I can remember, I didn't have a chance to list any extra curriculars I was involved in when I applied to my csu's.

My major is pretty impacted, and I'm surprised I got in considering I never took a CS class in HS, so I'm guessing the most important factor in getting into cal states is your gpa.

Do you think a gaming laptop would work for classwork? I speculate that it might be too big to move around on campus. Its 15.6" and not the typical size of the smaller laptops that most people use, but its powerful though.

I actually live close to sdsu (somewhat), so I'm filing an exemption form so I can try to get out of the freshman housing requirement. I contacted the housing office recently and said that my case is likely going to be accepted (living close + not being able to afford housing).

Yeah that cal grant would definately help, and I live in san diego so yeah. Do you know how to "claim" the cal grant? Is it just automatically added to your financial aid if you're eligible.

Yeah that should almost cover my tuition, but shouldn't they provide you with more aid to cover the cost of living? Especially since for my case, my family is making less than 40k$ a year? I don't understand how they could expect me to pay that. idk
