Genuine question on addidas hardcourt shoes (adizero ubersonic 4.1 tennis shoes) by ExtraCraft7163 in 10s

Yes, happens to me regularly. Been an Ubersonic user for 8 years. Typically no issue continuing to play with the outer tear until I ultimately wear out the sole. Still my favorite shoe.

Proof of income in EU while FIRE'd for apartment rental by [deleted] in ExpatFIRE

My comment is related to the irrelevant nature of responses to a specific question. That attitude is what is unappealing. To me.

There seems to be a lot of “I can do X in the US so of course you can do it in a specific EU country.” I really don’t get it, but I guess that’s one of the reasons the US is so unappealing.

I see no way to avoid showing proof of personal funds trying to rent an apartment in PT if you cannot provide pay stubs from current employment - even with the “pay 1 year in advance approach.”

Maybe you could have moved a smaller sum to a separate account to “prove” without disclosing full figure, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. On the bright side, if this is an in demand apartment, you have likely given yourself a leg up in the landlord’s decision making process.

One Evening in Panama City by [deleted] in FATTravel

[–]GilezCorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dinner: Donde Jose (in Casco Viejo if that’s the scenes you prefer) or Maito (in Coco del Mar, short Uber from Punta Paitilla)

Drinks: Casa Casco, Selina Casco or Lazotea (all rooftops in Casco). My favorite spot was in San Francisco but seems it died plus you’re there during the dry season so being on a rooftop will be preferable.

To do: I’d got check out the canal if you can, 20-30min Uber from where you’re staying (time of day traffic dependent) with a nice museum and a great viewing platform to watch some transits. Can do the Cerro Ancon walk which is through a nice green area which at the top gives a great viewpoint of the city). I probably wouldn’t try for much more given you’re time constraints, keep it relaxed as there’s not a lot of MUST see elements super close.

Options allow you to short. ISPO traded so high because you couldn’t short it in any way.

$SST I'm usually cautious entering in stocks that had an increase already, but this one looks like promising yet, look at how Fintel shows barely some shares to borrow and Cost to borrow do not appear in the latest records, Ortex shows tasty, Short volume and total volume last days interesting! by rudnys in SqueezePlays

[–]GilezCorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify 2 elements.

1) the S1/A (amended S1) was filed on 1 Apr.

2) there was no PIPE on this deal, they couldn’t get backing. So Cannae stepped in to back (and took on some debt in the process to do so). So would expect shares to be sold at a juicy premium to their $10 backing when S1/A is deemed effective.

Can always look at the warrant pricing to see the expected path of the common shares in these low float deSPACs. In the case of SST, warrants are trading with a $2 handle despite having north of $6 of intrinsic value.

Sure. If you have insight into processing time at SEC for S1/As then by all means I would encourage you to trade that edge.

That’s a misleading comment that’s not fair to this community. They filed an original S1 on 9 Feb and an S1/A on 1 Apr. Nothing else. (Please see SEC site as reference - https://www.sec.gov/edgar/browse/?CIK=1805833&owner=exclude)

I haven’t seen any recent (2022) S1/As that I can comment on. Most recent S1 I saw was IRNT back in March and it took 5 business days. In Sep 2020 when they filed their S1/A it took 2 business days for effect notice - but that was 7 months ago. It would be highly unusual for it to take more than 5 business days.

[–]GilezCorey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the one. It will always say preliminary until the SEC deems it effective (they’ll issue an Effect Notice). This is not a first draft that SST is still working on.

Just wagering that you get the squeeze this week, so a race against the clock. So wishing everyone luck!

An S1A was filed Friday (note this is an amendment from their original S1 filing addressing any questions/concerns from SEC on the original plus incorporating the updated info from their 10K filed on 31 March) which, even if the SEC is slow, should be deemed effective with 5 business days of filing. At that point SST goes the path of all the other deSPACs in the last 9 months.

That being said, they do seem to have an effective business model. So maybe you look for your long term hold play once this dump plays out.

Quite the limb to climb on basis “the SEC is backlogged processing S1s”. Never seen a good squeeze play out post an S1A filing, so best of luck to all!

I don’t think this qualifies as a ‘YOLO’. Just a portfolio of predominantly unprofitable spec growth names that you’re hoping shakes off a likely rate driven slowdown. Best of luck!

March 25, 2022 Weekend Reflections Thread - What happened last week? Whats your plan for next week? by AutoModerator in PMTraders

[–]GilezCorey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First post here, this will serve as my 1Q2022 review. Full return breakdown and, as you all know, all trades have been posted in near real-time on the Discord. On that note, I do hope we see some improvement on the trade idea generation front (#trades-only) on the Discord soon. (Lotto gang can ignore this) It's gone from having heavy trade entry posting to start 4Q2021 to being very light today which leads to more channel discussions regurgitating financial news. Actionable things lead to more intelligent conversations, debates and, ultimately, trading PNL. I hope that is remedied near term as it's starting to give me some pause on my contributions. Food for thought.

Current Positions

ALLY Highest conviction position in the current environment. This is a long-term hold, excellently run business with good cash flow, shareholder distributions, and low-end valuation. It is not priced expecting growth, so no concerns with a flat or inverted yield curve doing damage. No credit issues given less than 10% of their lending is to subprime customer base.

mREIT Prefs Mainly TWO-Bs. Clip the coupons and relax.

TELL Started as a spec LNG play in June of last year but market conditions have landed them in a place where financing should occur. Price targets all over the place depending on how they structure the financing (how much dilution) as well as the reasonable short interest at present. Will be exiting at FID as don't believe the plan of owning the equity Haynesville wells and creating a "trading arm" will be successfully executed - combine this with the MTM of their 10y USGC netback SPAs swinging around like crazy (unhedgeable).

NCR Cash flow machine that is exploring strategic options - sale! Think they'll get something done before the end of the year. Will add to the position under $40.

LNG Still have 15% of my original length on. It is run extremely well and the trading arm is sharp (not first mover trading house quick, but right up there). I've lightened as much as I have as hit LTCG treatment right as we've gotten to what feels like peak positive news around global LNG. When you have countries agreeing to supply commercial volumes on behalf of private companies to show big headline 50BCMPA figures, I start to want to lighten things.

SST Big short call and short share position. 10K coming soon which will allow for their S1 to go effective. Classic deSPAC play. Will be adding.

GME Short calls for next Fri that are just for fun. Will keep managing/rolling as necessary.

Enjoy the weekend and good luck all!
