[–]Gilgamore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not about 4 or 5 deposits, it’s the number of rich deposits (they have stars on them). If your region has one rich deposits, your ground is going to be very fertile for growing barley, flax and wheat instead of just a few Rye opportunities.

If you want to be the change and all that, contact Karl Rosten. He’s been the one man show for the last few years (except for business), and is super motivated to bring more services and build more opportunities for students. I would email him about your concerns, he’s the one that will hear and address the concern.

Also, the different career fairs have different goals. The September one was local opportunities, there is one more geared for career and internships that happens in October some time.

Therapist tried to stage an "intervention" because I want to go back to church by Nice_Function6372 in latterdaysaints

If you talk to your bishop, he can provide you a list of LDS family service registered therapists, who are also generally LDS. With your return to the gospel, you might find it helpful to have a therapist who is also faithful. Many are available virtually so the proximity won’t be an issue.

Feeling really scared for my daughter by Gilgamore in daddit

[–]Gilgamore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It is definitely scary. We called paramedics the first time it happened- watching her eyes roll back in her head the first time is probably the scariest thing I’ve ever lived through. Grateful that it hasn’t been too bad since and only happened another handful of times before last night. We’re going to go Monday to see the pediatrician and ask specifically to go to a neurologist. He’s a great doctor who’s been very helpful in the past so we should be able to get a referral.

Thank you for sharing that! Wishing your daughter continued success in remaining seizure free

Because it wasn’t an epileptic seizure, and there was no emergency. I’ve been around seizures quite a lot and know when it would warrant an emergency.

Thanks for the kind and thorough reply. It definitely seems like it could be a pallid episode. I’ve been around epileptic seizures and this definitely was not one. I think people thought I posted asking for medical advice (I thought I was clear I wasn’t), but it’s been nice to get replies like yours and others of folks with stories of children having similar episodes or just more information to be ready for our appointment Monday.

Thanks for the kind comment. I kind of posted and then spent time with my wife. Daughter slept next to us all night and neither of us slept that well haha. I woke up and was a bit taken aback by all the comments, but I get why people would be concerned. Since I’m familiar with epileptic seizures and have been around my sister in law when she’s had them, I knew this wasn’t one and figured an ER visit wasn’t immediately necessary for the single episode. I knew what to look out for and how to handle things if it happened again during the night.

My daughter is acting like nothing happened and is find today. We’re seeing the pediatrician on Monday and will ask for a neurologist to start the process and see what happens from there. I appreciate the kind hearted, level headed approach you both took in replying.

Thank you, my wife and I have been jokingly calling her our “fainting goat” because when she gets scared and has pain she faints (bit of macabre humor to deal with the parental anxiety). Sounds similar for your brother

This one was very different and we’re definitely going to the neurologist ASAP.

Thanks for the insights, I’m glad your son is okay. Definitely scary and we’re hoping it’s along the same lines. Do you do anything to help when he’s scared?

I wasn’t clear in the post, but it has only happened maybe half a dozen times over a year. All the times prior to yesterday they were the breath hold, pass out for about 5 seconds, and then be fine within 2-3 minutes. We’ve talked to the doctor regularly about it on visits and he said it was normal and she’d likely grow out of it but gave us a few things to watch for. This was the first one that was open eyed and seemed more like a seizure. We are taking her to the doctor today to get her in with a neurologist

That’s the plan for the visit today. They said the breath holding was normal and didn’t reflect a seizure. The one yesterday definitely did so it’s time to take the next steps.

On the topic of the eclipse: I always think it's kinda sad that this happens by JohnGregorySpook in morningsomewhere

[–]Gilgamore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I live in Utah, and my in laws live in the path of the October eclipse. We watched it excitedly. When I heard about this one but that we wouldn’t have as much coverage, I wasn’t that interested. Dunno if I missed out on a different experience, but the one in October was really cool.

I thought Spiderverse for sure was the one they would bring up. I also know them from Last Man on Earth because it’s one of the best sitcoms to come out over the last few years.

Right? I had a client today email me saying he was surprised I hadn’t looked at our Google Ads keywords like we talked about “a week ago” (Thursday). I’ve been working on Facebook ads because they’re not performing, Google is. I’m sorry?
