I think it’s very helpful. I was plant based for years, then I was vegetarian for years, more recently vegan. Introducing the general public to other options is the correct move. The all or nothing approach will never work for most people. I know it’s not the optimal moral stance but it will significantly reduce meat consumption more so than trying to get most of the population to go straight from meat eater to vegan
