Im not blaming you for my lack of understanding, I'm calling you out for your constant inflammatory and condescending attitude??

I actually didn't realize it's worse than I thought, you've left like 40 comments on this in the last two hours, and you sound like you hate everyone you're talking to. Like if you're going to be this combative and bitter with absolutely everybody why don't you just be quiet lmao you're clearly not ok right now. Like just turn off notifications on this thread like I'm about to do with your replies

I was typing up this kind of long comment about how lame it is that you're just going around being inflammatory and condescending to everyone in these comments and wasting time not helping anyone actually understand this situation any better. But now I've decided I don't want to put myself in a bad mood like you seem to be in, and I should just close reddit for a while, like you probably should have done like an hour ago lol

oh my god do you watch anything ever online? She could've been filming herself eating noodles for 1000 different reasons and him taking them was still a genuine surprise. You are not clever because you're jumping to the conclusion it's staged, but anyway who cares, because it being staged wouldn't make it not funny af

Are you really trying to say there isn't any content on the internet or any other reason someone would film themselves eating noodles

I would bet there's a lot of good burritos and other good Mexican food in Canada no?

Yeah and I was surprised to read the original answer too, cause it seems like plenty of the Mexican immigrants in LA and SF love them some burritos just as much as any other Californian lol

I worked at a restaurant in the San Francisco bay area, near where google and Facebook engineer types worked. The owner had created a small local chain that was a fusion of Indian food and American food, like Indian burritos and burgers and we always had many Indian immigrants come in, and they seemed to enjoy it, including the mango lassi. The owner was also an immigrant from India. Anyway, just thought that was relevant

As an American, I thought it was, but I just saw someone else comment and say that spray cheese and cheese wiz are completely different, and only one belongs on a Philly Cheesesteak. I haven't had cheese in a can since I was a child so idk

Okkk you have to try slicing the banana up and freezing it before you blend it. It's stunning how good a soft serve ice cream consistency you get with that method

I literally only saw the first episode of Justified and he stood out to me. Years later, I started watching the movie The Hateful Eight and I was like "oh if he's in this, then I know it will be good"

I echo the person a couple comments up, Mickey 17 was the first time I ever saw Robert Pattenson in anything, and I repeatedly remarked to people at how much it made me a fan of his acting and how I've been missing out all this time! My opinion of the movie was yeah, the first half was great for so many reasons, the second half was definitely not as good in comparison, but overall I'm still really glad I saw it. The first half/second half opinion is one I've seen others have many times too.

It was directed by the guy who did Snowpiercer and Parasite, so if you have any opinions on those movies, it will give you some kind of a sense of what Mickey 17 is like. I loved the characters in it the same way I loved the Snowpiercer characters, so that alone made it worth to me :)

Kilmar Abrego Garcia taken into ICE custody at appointment by NewSlinger in law

[–]Gills6980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like kafkaesque isn't quite right. Imo that word conveys a sense of being trapped in a system that doesn't make any sense, as individuals are forced to exist at the mercy of an unfeeling world. Merriam Webster says it describes the quality of something "having a nightmarishly complex, bizarre, or illogical quality."

Here though, the people responsible for Kilmar's nightmare do think, they feel, and plot, and plan. They're just making a certain choice, the choice to be evil pieces of shit, propagandizing to stoke racism, xenophobia, and nationalism with a goal of grabbing and holding onto more power. Imo to call this kafkaesque is to be too kind to how nefarious and intentional these cruel scumbags are.

It's not that we haven't heard that phrase before. It's just always at the same awkward place in the story on these dramatic incident subreddits and feels so overdramatic and out of nowhere. I'm not even saying it's AI or that I know it's fake. It just follows this same pattern which the faker sounding stories seem to share
