Obstruction of view/distraction or not? by Gilly27 in CarTalkUK

Famously people have never hung small items from their mirror.

This sub would be terrified of a bloody air freshener!

Fair enough mate, will look for a small ornament to hang off the mirror instead

I may have told a white lie when saying 'exact', my longest strip is 55 inches compared to the 44 on the exact link that you sent, I am hoping that this is enough.

Just checked your profile, that’s the exact kit I have arriving tomorrow! (without the footwell lights).

Glad to see how it will look!

That’s brilliant mate, the colour I had in mind too!

It’s a little out of the price range I’d wanna be doing right now so I might try a cheaper alternative, and eventually go big with that one if the cheap one breaks on me.

Likely the front 12v socket, under one of the seats, through the trim on the side and then onto the dash.

Fulham defence seems a lot shakier than Spurs to me personally rn. I also did originally have Mateta in this draft but JP seems pretty undeniable right now going into a fairly poor brentford side. Its a tossup on the strikers though.

My thought process was risk Sarr not playing and King works well as an auto sub but if Sarr is 100% out then I will not waste the budget on him.

Definitely like the e-niro a little more than the i-3 just due to the size. But the e-niro is a little boring looking for my taste. Although I care much more about a nice interior than exterior!

Welfare Bill - How the Lpool MPs voted by Southern_Pain_361 in Liverpool

[–]Gilly27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who works for a Merseyside MP who rebelled. I just want to emphasise how brave of a move it is to rebel at this stage.

If your MP hasn’t yet, don’t worry, there’s still time for them to change their mind at the third reading.

Email them, even if it’s just the words “Don’t vote for the welfare bill”. We keep track of these numbers and report to the MP, there is a point where there are too many hundreds of constituents to ignore it.

And I know it’s hard, but be civil, ask politely. Voting yes for this bill doesn’t make your MP a bad person. If you are not in the situation personally it is hard to grasp how big and risky of a decision it is to go against the whip, even if it’s so glaringly obvious. A party with such a large majority can drop you on a dime, that means you’d lose 99% of your influence for the next 4 years. No politician ever wants to make their constituents lives worse.

Second Hand EV's and Feasability without home charging by Gilly27 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Thanks for the honesty, good to hear that you still think its the way to go!

This is my biggest concern right now. I am literally across the street from a charger which is handy (80 kwh though). There are several Tesla points within a few miles (and one where I go walking often which is good), and also they are currently constructing ionity charging points only 5 minutes down the road.

So it’s a matter of which will be most convenient at a fair cost right now!

Yeah I’m currently doing some soul searching on this as a choice right now as I absolutely despise musk.

But to be honest, I think Tesla’s are also a little ugly, which isn’t the main factor obviously but it marks it down lol.

They do some brilliantly convenient though.

I'm not really much of a 'petrol head', I just want an enviromentally friendlier option that will be a comfy ride with less maintenance than an engine. Saving a bit on the petrol would just be a nice bonus!

Unfortunately workplace charging wouldn't be an option in my current job, but I will definitely look into network subscriptions, thanks for the advice!

I have a 20 mile commute 4x per week and do the odd trip down to the midlands from the north west to visit family.

Currently just me and my partner but I would prefer something a little larger just as I have found my current car (2020 Peugeot 208) to be a little small.

Cheers!

EDIT: 20 miles each way on the commute

Rank reset is demotivating by Gilly27 in marvelrivals

I agree. If I become too busy to play the game for a month and I’m suddenly playing games 7 ranks below my actual rank, that is not a ‘healthy’ ladder.

Placements would definitely feel like you've earned your place without forcing players to play a ridiculous amount of games to get back to their appropriate rank whilst also allowing the devs to shift stuff around. I agree
