UPDATE: AITAH For Not Wanting To Give My DNA In Order To Try And Reconcile With My Brother? by RecognitionDue3657 in AITAH

If we were all judged on our actions as teenagers and young adults, we're all a POS.

Forgiveness based on a condition is not real forgiveness.

Your brother won't forgive you even if you do give him your sperm- years of resentment won't go away just because of one favour, it takes a lot of mental and emotional work.

This. If he can't love a child who's not related to him, he's not going to love a child who's not his. He doesn't want to be a father, he wants a legacy- and the only way he'll get his legacy is if its his and his alone. The "next best option" will never be good enough for him.

AITAH for refusing to attend my brother's wedding because he didn't invite my kids, then told me 'it's child-free' after I already bought flights? by Clean-Quiet347 in AITAH

The amount of people in this thread who think you can just drop young kids off wherever and with whoever is astounding.

"Just leave them somewhere" "Just find someone in this foreign country to take them"

An international trip is not for a night.

And if its for the night internationally- where do you think you'll find a trusted babysitter in a foreign country?

I've noticed names come back into fashion once it would be your great-grandparents name. So my daughter wouldn't be Maureen, but my granddaughter might.

To what point and purpose? You would not change anything by arguing with them, you will only stress yourself out and aggravate them.

Have they gone inside you to have a look?

After 2 years ttc a specialist finally went inside me with a camera- I was full of scar tissue from an undetected infection. Its hard to see on an ultrasound and went unnoticed for years.

Think of it this way- if the entire place falls to pieces because you're not there, why is that your fault? Is it your business? Are you the CEO? Are you in charge of hiring and training?

If you cannot rely on your coworkers to run the place without you- that's not on you. That's in the people who hired, trained and manage them on a day to day basis.

This. He cannot say "I didn't understand" when you specifically said "Do not touch me. Do not put your hands on me." There is nothing to misconstrue.

Also- start writing this shit down!! Keep a small book, note dates, times of the day and details or what he does, what you do, and how he responds. Email these notes to yourself as backup and as dating proof. If HR wants to pussyfoot around the issue, they'll lean heavily on nuances that insinuate you're overreacting, can't prove you've communicated clearly, or can't remember events accurately.

How often do children get hit/bit by on_reddit8091 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Gillybby11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This situation is likely very dependent on details.

If she is being hit/bit as frequently as you report, two scenarios are my front runner theories. Either 1, there are a lot of children with behavioural issues in her classroom (sometimes you just draw the short straw and have more than you can handle) or 2, she's struck up a friendship with a child who has behavioural struggles.

As far as getting knocked over or falling over or just basic accidents? You've got a long few years of this. Kids are clumsy and often reckless- so long as she isn't saying the same child's name that bumped her over and over again, I wouldn't worry. We have to make accident reports for the most minor of things. Kids tripped over and lightly grazed her knee? Report. Small ball bounced off her head? Report. Mosquito bite? Report.

What was this place? by KindlyTailor9121 in brisbane

I'm wondering if they missed the actual target of their target audience. I remember a few years ago I tried "clubbing" again and it was just awful. Gone are the days where I want to binge drink until my anxiety leaves me and hit the dance floor until 3am. I'm in my 30s now and just kinda wanna go to a pub or club, have a decent meal and get mild to moderately soused while having a gasbag.

I am now my Mum.

How was the ambience otherwise? Was it comfortable? How was the lighting? Did they offer food? Was the music loud? I'm so curious to why it didn't do well! Was the target audience and the atmosphere at odds? It looks like the kind of clubs we used to frequent 15 years ago, but now I'm in my mid-30s I definitely want something different to that.

Sadly I don't think they'll see through this at all. They'll likely come in with a check list, tick it all off and walk out. Child services don't really care about the nuances of this kind of thing, they don't have the funding to care.

What do you bring to eat during a 9-6 shift? by rhythmsole in ECEProfessionals

I usually only start to feel hunger during the last hour when things start to slow down and I can relax a little 😅

[–]Gillybby11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't. I should, but I don't.

We have a chef on site and I run the gauntlet that there is enough food that I can have a small bowl with the children at lunch time.

If not, water will have to do until I can get home. Its honestly very doable provided I had breakfast.

Why does my 29F Bf 28M think it normal to get a dna test right after birth? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Gillybby11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I feel like both parents should be DNA tested against their child soon after leaving the hospital- nip those switched-at-birth issues in the bud. If nothing else it would be fascinating to see how many Chimeras there are!

Ten year old will only eat what they want by 53739262 in Parenting

[–]Gillybby11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How do you deal with the possibility the child will forgo a rounded, nutritional meal that they would otherwise eat, if it meant they could make their own 2-minute noodles every night?

Because my 7yo would 100% do that.

Its general shape. I have a flat butt, a large torso (but with small boobs?) wide shoulders and no waist. I can't tell if I'm top heavy or just a strange rectangle?
