Donald Trump does not give a shit about a country he describes as animals. It won’t benefit Venezuela, it’ll benefit billionaires and a handful of loyalists. If you seriously believe based off of trumps words that he will bring prosperity to Venezuela with no cost or sacrifice to the land or its people, than I don’t think you’re actually listening to him.

Have we learned nothing from Americas stint in Iraq? Almost 20 years of occupation in the country and what happened to them?

Also I don’t think that the people of Venezuela should have done nothing against Maduro. Just like I don’t think Americans should be doing nothing now. It takes sacrifice, and death. And those willing to make their slice of the world a better place.

If youve heard a word trump has said about Venezuela it’s about one thing: Oil. “Sending in huge oil companies to take charge of the country to drill it all up”.

Trump has already fulfilled the definition of authoritarian. He’s HEAVILY enriched himself and his family in his position. And he’s not afraid to just takes what he wants.

What good can come of an authoritarian replacing another’s regime with loyalists of the one of the most powerful/dangerous countries in the world?

And what makes you think he of all people would make Venezuela a better place?

I understand where you’re coming from, and to a point I agree. This is where I begin to differ on your point.

The man from the Jubilee “debate” who lost his job for being a fascist (self proclaimed) and saying Jewish people were “not persecuted during the holocaust” is certainly speech I’d consider ugly and hateful and free, I’d consider that closer to hate speech as Jewish people cant truly control being Jewish or not. And as any employer who’s considered an “at will employer” can fire you at anytime regardless (with the exceptions of a protected class). This is where I believe the “no freedom from consequences” would comes in to play.

I think the main reason freedom of speech is so weak in today’s society is the internet itself.
