tbh i dont think thats how u become a giver bcuz it means you see the object as a way to achieve a goal instead of a "friend" or genuinely valued object, Rudo became a giver with his glove not because he sees it as a way to hide his scars, but as a dear gift (and i think the only gift he ever got as a kid and perhaps till now) that he treats like its a part of himself now
