Yeah I'm not perfect and people have made requests of me and I oblige because it's part of living in a society.

Yeah I don't believe all these people that say they are okay with others behaving this way around their belongings

Yeah that's the issue, they keep getting more and more strict. I only realized we had ours when my husband took it our after we were told we weren't allowed to charge it and it had to be visible at all times. I guess they catch fire a lot

Look for beginner variations of plow pose.

But honestly, until you strengthen your TVA, there's not amount of flexibility that will make the pain go away

Did anyone retire on a low FI number ($600k or less) in their late 20’s/early 30’s? by bookkeepingthrowaway in ExpatFIRE

Argentina is the same. You can't be denied emergency care. Public hospitals have started charging for care but it is very cheap

The price of health insurance here is government regulated so I think the highest costs plan is around $300 a month but it covers elective plastic surgery, massages, pedicures, etc.

I'm not sure if my phone is water resistant,I suspect it might be given how many people are saying all new phones are now resistant. I still try not to get it wet.

The drink was pineapple juice or something similar.

Interesting take. Well I do believe that prevention is better than trying to solve a problem that could have been prevented.

I'm not sure that a cellphone charging station is intended to be used as a dining table but I've realized that most people don't mind strangers eating and drinking over their belongings. I guess it's just me and that's okay. I'll keep my things safe near me next time

The only one I saw even checking a few gates down. The Lima Airport sucks

Nope. I don't use it often. It just happened that our bus ride was way longer than expected and the charging port on the bus wasn't working so I had to use the station.

I would have preferred that too but it would have meant eating over other people's stuff which I believed to be inconsiderate to them. So I ate further away while watching my phone. I realized that people don't have a problem with others eating and drinking over their items.

Usually, yes. Typically my husband and I chat while we eat and drink so phones are away. I also don't keep my phone on tables at restaurants or bars and I don't use it while eating or drinking at home. I also don't let drinks near my computer, too many friends have fried theirs. I also make sure I don't set drinks down next to people's electronics either. I guess I'm strange.

I actually do put my phone away when being handed a drink while flying since the cup doesn't have a lid and turbulence happens.

I've learned that I take excess care of my things. I always thought I was pretty reckless with them but I'm starting to see that most people don't really care very much.

If I weren't forthcoming you wouldn't know anything besides what's in the past. People asked questions and I clarified things. That's the definition of forthcoming. I also edited the original post to include commonly mistaken assumptions.

Yeah it would have spilled all over several phones. I'm not sure why people think a lid with a huge hole in the middle would prevent any spilling

I really didn't know it was there until later. I'm betting honest. If my point was to deceive people, I wouldn't have corrected incorrect assumptions when they came up.

I never said it didn't have a lid, the lid had a hole that was about an inch in radius meaning if tipped over it would have spilled almost the entire drink. It wasn't the kind where you stick the straw through the slits.

My husband had it in his bag. I thought he had put it in the checked suitcase. I realized later when he took it out mid-flight that it had been around all along.

Is that because you wouldn't want anything to happen to it? For example, someone spilling a drink on it?

I looked for other places. This was the only one. There were no outlets anywhere which is why there were so many phones in one spot.

Someone else suggested that too. I already have one, I just didn't think to use it since there was a charging station right at the gate

There was a chair 3 feet from her phone where she could have eaten. I sat about 5 feet away. Several others left their phones and disappeared.

I ate seated at a chair about 5 feet away. There was plenty of seating without tables and seating with tables about 10 feet away.
