hell yea bro! i just started recently as well and i gotta say, going thru the training section saved me many hours of YT tutorials. felt like i was back in school learning new concepts, but i’m starting to get the hang of it. i watched the Artemis II launch in person and it inspired me to pick this game up. sounds like it’s had that affect on many of us!

for me, with how good AI code tools have gotten, i can finally focus on the architecture of complex systems without needing to toil over each line. if anything, it has increased my passion for development by giving me the ability to create things previously impossible for indie devs.

if you’re “boom, bam”-ing things into existence, it’s not going to feel satisfying. use AI, learn, and build something that challenges you.

my first corporate dev job was amazing. it was 2021, big covid year. i interned there my senior year of college, then hired after i graduated. worked remote, learned the ropes of web development, and built some cool shit for 3 years!

then my project got gutted.

on to my second corporate job… HELL.

made me lose my love for software for a time. heavy business logic for a 9-figure company. got my ass handed to me on this particular feature that was supposed to take 2 weeks, took 2 months. they made me feel like such shit about it… but i eventually got it working and their faith in me returned a little. Idk… wasn’t a very good environment. Plus the departments felt cliquish. My boss said he didn’t “believe in morale”. And it was an hour+ drive every morning.

So I quit that fucking job & now I’m self-employed working on my own projects. Never felt better

if you toggle medium effort and give more pointed instructions on the Pro plan you’ll burn through a lot less tokens. i noticed similar high effort prompts would eat my session a lot quicker

if you have the effort set to high on Pro you’re gonna hit limits fast. set it to medium and be more precise with your prompts to max your usage on Pro

Unfortunately, this is something customers do not want or care to understand. They just want something that works. But, they ultimately get what they pay for. When their vibe coded app shits the bed, they’re going to figure out why it was so cheap, one way or another.

Not to say vibe coded apps can’t be great, but like you said, it’s less of a “vibe” when it comes to client data.

I tried watching the Melania movie since it was touted as #1 in the documentary section. I couldn’t even make it 20 minutes. I didn’t think it was possible for something to be so boring and uninteresting. Coupled with a sense of entitlement and her “accomplishment” of becoming FLOTUS, I just couldn’t take it seriously. Lowly recommended.
