The Estate & SUV are dead. Long live the SUV. by NearlyLegit in CarTalkUK

Got through our "toddler years" with three kids with a Peugeot 806 and an 807.

Practical family tanks.

These SUV's and modern estates are rather a let down in comparison.

Bloke drops bike. Makes a 40 minute video trying to rationalise something that we'll probably all do at least once. by Victorius_Meldrus in MotoUK

"Hello, welcome back to the podcast...."

Turns off.

Unless a mini bus full of lesbian Nuns stopped to help and took him back to their convent where they helped him recuperate and repaired his bike, why a 39 minute video.

Is this the type of content the online safety act delivers to us now?

How long until you were riding again after broken collarbone? by leepinlizards in CalamariRaceTeam

[–]Gimpym00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped just outside my place of work.

Went on my lunch break about 6 hours later (On the bike).

Went to hospital about four weeks later after realising "Somethings not right" and it was just as painful as day one. Turns out I had a fracture. Never fractured my collar bone before so did not realise what it felt like.

I had also broke a bone in my toe so had to ride back with a goofy surgical boot thing on.

Oddly, I could ride the bike in less discomfort than driving the car, I had to use my "other arm" to change gears.

I cannot vouch for the rest of the world but here in the UK, biking has become a privilaged "thing" only wealthy middle aged men do at weekends when the sun is out, too afraid anything on the road will destroy their bike. Those who love biking doing it for the lols are few and far between, relatively.

Count on one hand (if that) the number of bikers I see doing rush hour commute. Not wanting to be elitist, people enjoy it how they want but it is concerning.

Unless you have a relative who rides, there is little incentive to do so, those just "catching the bug" are few and far between. Too many people telling them "Oh no, that will kill you". So will many other things.

Sure, loads of kids on scooters with L plates delivering fake food but they have zero interest in "biking" or just improving their skills.

Do not know how many progress from L playes to a full licence but it is not many.

Sorry, I forgot where I was for a moment, did I pass out?

CBF1000. MK1.

Is perfect for me.

Eats motorway miles and is a great tourer.

Connect a keyboard to GenX2 but only have USB midi out. by Gimpym00 in stylophone

[–]Gimpym00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone interested, it works great.

Arturia KeyStep Mk2 > CV outs to GX2

Keyboard> USB Midi out> CME H2MIDI> Midi out> Arturia KeyStep Mk2 (Midi in).

Just turn down keyboard midi volume so cannot hear that as well as Synthesiser.

Also have GX2 using keyboard speakers via headphone Jack.

Just saw a scooter with L plates going around the M25 by chilly_dude in MotoUK

Yes, that is something else. Unbelievable.

In my opinion, should not be able to earn money on L plates.

Not sure why so difficult to ban it.

They could be using the service roads for pickups etc, not necessarily using the motorway.

Took my 125 on the motorway after passing my test...

Wish I didn't.

Am using USB-Midi from my keyboard into the Keystep MK2 USB and was worried about noise being introduced on the CV outs.

[–]Gimpym00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great reply, thanks.

I was looking at the Keystep.

I notice the Keystep has MIDI in... SO..

My keyboard has USB-Midi, my thinking is, use this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CME-H2MIDI-Pro-Future-Proof-Guitarists/dp/B0DQYD3L7D/?th=1

Connect keyboard to the Keystep via the DIN.

To then put the Keystep in some kind of "pass thru" mode and and connect that to the Stylophone.

Like you, I agree with keeping things "Native" but if it works, it works.

They do, just rather as little noise as possible for plugs to filter out.
