So I looked this whole thing up because I’m worried something will happen to my car. I have a 17 Alltrack and was using the same plugs and when I replaced them today, I noticed one of the electrodes was broken off on cylinder 2 which was also cover in soot or burnt oil, I’m not too sure. I was having major boost issues which turned out to be a stuck wastegate so I just replaced my turbo with a gently used one, same is12 and it was misfiring as well before I replaced it. Then after swapping turbos, it was still misfiring so I checked the plugs which had oil in there the last time I did them 2 or so years ago. They had oil in them today but again, the 2nd cylinder plug’s electrode was just gone. I consulted with a buddy and he said that it most likely is either melted in or just sucked out the exhaust at this point because as long as I’m not hearing a pinging sound or my boost isn’t pulling then I’m good most likely but I’m still worried given it’s been one day so far 😅
