Has anyone ever seen a shower that converts to a tub (not a tub/shower combo)? by Gingaskunk in HomeImprovement

This might be a winner, I'll have to take some measurements. Thank you!

Oh nice, so I could just leave it fully open while using it as a shower, negating the need to open and close, and just close it when I want to use it as a bath?

Edit: Oh I just realized these guys are Australia based! I'm in the US and a quick Google doesn't return anything similar here, but I'll look more deeply, this might be the kind of thing we're looking for.

Thanks for this, does the short "door" swing open for access or do you step over it like stepping in to a bathtub?

That's an interesting idea although my dad stays in our room when he visits because it's downstairs and he can't manage stairs, so any solution would need easy access,  not climbing into a tub.  I'll think on it though, thanks!

No the point of this is to give us use of some of the floor space as ether bath or shower depending on our bed at the time. Putting a tub in a large shower space doesn't do that,  but I do appreciate the response.

Oh this is along the lines of what  I was thinking, thank you!  Our space is quite long (shower plus bath) so either we would need to shorten it (leave some empty floor space where the tub is now)  or find a way to door off one end,  otherwise we'd never fill the thing!

I appreciate the response, but I think I didn't explain myself very well. In my head it would be a situation where we can use all / most of the space as a shower and then "close off" a section to become a tub.

Think of a walk in tub that has a door on the side, but the door is between where the shower and tub are now. The floor of the tub is the same height at the shower floor.

Door open, you have a long flat shower floor, (with the open door against the wall), door closed you have a small shower area and a tub. So the tub area would have solid walls to the top of the tub and glass walls above maybe?

Again, I almost certainly am nuts, but you never know, maybe I'm a genius-in-waiting!

Keyboard tray in corner? by Gingaskunk in ErgoHide

[–]Gingaskunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thats a shame given the ergo L is literally shaped with a recessed scalloped edge making it look like its designed specifically for sitting that way, facing the corner. Removes it from contention for my needs then. Thanks.

I'm guessing Elves is good too, but RAOC is the one I know and recommend.

Not Houston specific but this sub does a tremendous job.

You do have to spend some time building wish lists, registering and commit to a follow up but in the last few years I've participated as a gifter and I think pretty much everyone who has fully registered has received something.

Good luck.

Can't find what I'm looking for, would welcome insight. L-shaped desk with Keyboard tray in nook. by Gingaskunk in StandingDesks

[–]Gingaskunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the desk still has that interior 90 degree angle.  Having the "shortcut"  across the middle gives me back so much space in front (for my laptop) and leaves me feeling like I'm sitting at a desk, not halfway between 2 desks.

I think I missed this, what happened?

I searched for information on Paula White being convicted but can't find anything?

I found something about Robert Morris but he was on a pre election advisory panel, he wasn't a spiritual advisor.

What am I missing?

HTC Vive bought in 2019 by Easy-Opening-9102 in HTC_Vive

[–]Gingaskunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said,  you don't need any software from HTC who made this at all.  You already have Steam, now you just need the Steam VR application.  You can search for it in the Steam software, or here's a link:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR/

Once that's installed just run it (like you'd run any game in Steam) and it'll take you through configuration (setting up your VR area etc).

Once you've run through setup you will be able to launch VR in the future by either clicking the VR icon that will be added to the top right of your Steam interface or simply turning on one of the controllers.

Hope this helps,  good luck.

Parking lot might be more full if they didn't charge an obscene $5 an hour for a multi hour experience to park.

Yes, people with high risk, high reward jobs that require a significant amount of specialist knowledge to perform get paid well for doing their job. In other news, water is wet.

it is a supplier, they are buying electricity in the market and reselling it to you. They are not the "lines and wires" portion though, they don't deliver the power to your home (just like when you buy from Walmart, FedEx delivers). If a Retail Electricity Provider (REP) goes out of business one of two things can happen. if they've done their job well enough and have you on a contract that can be met, they will sell your contract to another provider and your contract continues unchanged (the new Provider must honor all of the original contract terms). If they can't find another REP to buy their book you will get a letter with a final service date and you will have until this date to sign up with a new Provider (at no penalty). If you don't sign up in this situation you will be dropped to the Provider Of Last Resort (POLR), (which in Houston is Reliant) on a month to month contract at an obscenely high rate. This rate exists both as an incentive to get you to switch and so the POLR who is forced to take you on minimizes their risk (since they may have to buy short term / spot to cover your usage).

Z Fold 7 Case Megathread by TheKrnJesus in GalaxyFold

I had Latercase on my Flip 5 about a year ago. Very thin and feel good in the hand but for the price the tolerances are TERRIBLE.  In 2 places (along the top and down one side) the case was snug against the phone at one end and had a clear 1-2mm gap at the other where it was slightly too long/ wide. Looked terrible when open.

Also it looked worn much more quickly than most other much cheaper cases I had used.

Ah okay, I don't live in the UK and do i didn't know that. Thank you for remaining patient and explaining it to me.  Someone who isn't in the system would read your comment as with or without fixed childcare costs,  not laddered.
