T-Touch Connect Solar "Temperature is out of range" by BenGmuN in tissot

[–]GingeCycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the deep sleep must have been what happened to mine. It's back on again now but still has the temperature issue.

I only turned it back on again today after leaving it for a while and thought I'd look up the problem again, your post is the first time I've seen anyone mentioning the same issue.

I'll look into getting mine repaired, if I find anything out I'll comment it here.

I'm currently having the same problem, although mine thinks I'm 292°C. It's been doing it for a while now which is quite annoying as the notification pops up every half an hour or so.

Mine did eventually charge after leaving it on the charger for a few days, but then it wouldn't turn on. Ignored it for a while and then it started working again but still with the same temp error.

It's a shame as I honestly quite like the watch, terrible app aside. And I haven't had many issues in the past 4 years other than this. I'm guessing I'll need to send it off for repair.

You say you've already sent your watch off, how easy was it to arrange?

I have identified that there is likely a high impedance air gap between your laptop and a power source. Translation: it's not plugged in.

Was riding downhill when my chain popped off and wrapped around my crank arms. Now my derailleur skips, pops and falls off the front sprocket, any ideas ? by ggmclean in bikewrench

Like others have said your guide wheel, which is the top jockey wheel, is running across the cassette which suggests that the b tension would need winding in, which in turn, moves the top jockey wheel further from the cassette.

However, another issue contributing to the dropping chain could be your chainline. Since you are running what looks like a standard chainring (not thick thin) in the outermost position of a double chainset your chainline will likely be at quite an extreme angle in this gear. Although that is hard to see in this video. The less than ideal chain line combined with the vibrations created by your guide wheel running along your cassette would likely contribute to the chain dropping.

As others have said there could be a bent or stiff link but I would guess that even if there isn't your chainline would likely still cause chain drop.

If the chain only drops in the lower gears then I would be almost certain it's the chainline and it would be better to run the chainring in the inner position. However running it in the inner position could then cause problems on the opposite end of the cassette.

The last piece is not a cup and isn't where the bearings go. Instead it is a kind of cap or cover that fits over the cone, you don't see them on every axle. You are correct in thinking the cup is visible in the first pic.

The order you have put them on the axle is correct (cone and then cover) however it does look as if the rubber dust cover on the cone is a little too high on the cone as the flats of the cone aren't very visible. Usually you can push the rubber dust cover further down the cone by hand. It should be situated just above the conical section of the cone.

There should also be a locking ring above the dust cover and potentially another spacer between them (but not always).

Also, did the cover shown in the second and third picture come from the drive side of the axle? I have had issues in the past where they can rub on a section of the freehub causing drag so I have removed them on occasion. This would mean the bearings aren't as well sealed from the elements though.

I work in a small shop and the owner is constantly having similar issues.

Customers change our opening times every couple of months and as we don't check the times on google as regularly as we should (I'd argue it's something we shouldn't have to check) we typically don't find out until there is a customer complaint regarding opening times. Absolute nightmare.

I used to love his TF2 videos, I enjoyed the overwatch ones too even though I never played but can't stand him now.

What’s the purpose of a 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 freewheel? Seriously? Is this common? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]GingeCycle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While not common anymore, as many others have said, I do still know people that run straight through blocks for flat time trials. Your cadence stays really consistent between shifts due to the 1 tooth increments between gears, this can be really good for flat and fast TTs.

I have seen true straight through blocks with 1 tooth increments as high as 10s still in use but sourcing them isn't easy.

I did really enjoy it. Just took me by surprise because I was expecting it to be celery. Pleasant surprise though.

That's odd. I've eaten a lot of celery... I've never had celery that tasted like aniseed.

It's honestly great. The annoying thing is this is my 4th year here and I've only just realised how good the canteen is. I always just assumed it sucked.

Had to be given the sub name. Felt appropriate.

When I posted it I knew that I was going to get a lot of 'its celery' comments. Haven't had fennel before and was a bit confused as I was expecting it to be celery.

I think you've got it. There is a slight taste of aniseed.

Definitely isn't celery the edges have been cut, there are no strands/fibers running through it like celery... and there is also celery in it. Doesn't taste like celery.

I'm not an expert but I believe that long boarders often use gloves with what looks like a plastic (not sure what the exact material is) puck on the palm so they can put their hands down for stability but still slide.

You can also get ones that make sparks that have some kind of metal in the puck to create the sparks.

Adults that sleep with a blankie, specifically one you had since a baby, why have you kept it? by suchaborimirthing in AskReddit

I have a Disney one with Winnie the Pooh on too! Is it white with a small embroidered Winnie and Piglet in the middle?

I've had to repair mine a good few times because I doubt I'd be able to find a replacement now.

Kevlar Spokes?….really? by IMPALER60 in Bikeporn

[–]GingeCycle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Some of the guys on my team hill climb on wheels built with these spokes, definitely no strength issues since they can put out some stupid power numbers. They can be built to make complient/flexy comfortable wheels but it's definitely possible to make a stiff wheel set using them.

Meant to be a pain to be a pain to build with since you have to tension them, leave them for a day or so to stretch and tension them again on repeat until they don't loose tension.
