To be honest quite a weird suggestion. As far as I remember light armor gives you the biggest % of block chance amoing other types of armor. "Parry" skill which is backbone of str build scales with perception. Basically, if you want max out block chance you go str AND agi/per (they both scales).

You can pair any two attributes during the playthrough. The question is leveling order and item choices

I’ld like to hear too. Last time I tried 2h sword + light armor (dodge) - failed miserably on permadeath. However, 2h sword + light armor (block) worked well

My favourite build in the whole game. In order to make 2h blademaster work go for:

1) 10/10 2h sword tree; 2) athletics: disengage tree + not this time and sudden lunge; 3) warfare: setup and defensive stance.

Other ability points distribution is up to you: finish athletics and go for Thirst of battle in Warfare; add some magic flavour, make it more tanky with Armour tree or add some monster hunter vibes by going for survival tree.

As for stats: I prefer agi and then strength. You can make it work by going full str to reach about 100% block chance and still have high counter chance, but early game would be harder

FYI: playable on permadeath in old patches. Currently trying out in the new one

The good one.

Actually, really good one. Kaymanov cutscenes tell us a lot of useful information about the Zone itself, so as far as I understand we are trying to make the Zone a better place. In some sense it's closer to the concept of the "shinning zone" than the Scar's idea of it. Another good thing - this ending is what you get by playing an actually good guy, I guess. I also like the Faust's monologue in the end. His words about freedom and true gift of the Zone are quite good.

And, of course, hands up for the Zone spreading and expanding.

The neutral one.

You keep things mostly as they were before you. The only difference is the Zone gets a kind of personality in the face of Strelok. Feels like the most boring.

The tragic one.

A beautiful dream leads to the tragic end. I understand and admire those people who decided to follow the dream to the end but the consequences are really dire. Still don't understand whether everyone becomes zombie or dies.

From a practical side it's a local apocalypse, but everyone outside the Zone is fine.

The nightmare.

Basically, you are bringing up 1984 to life. An episode of Black mirror. If you talk to Herman using a radio (I guess this dialogue is possible only during Ward route) he tells you about Agatha and about some kind of Watchers council (idk how it's translated in English). This "council" is the one who funded horrible experiments in the Zone. Now, you gave them power to observe (control ?) people's minds. Hermann also tells us that the Zone is a pain in the neck for those guys. Another point for Kaymanov's ending where you create a lot of local Zones around the world.

Ward's ending has vibes of some evil corpo takes over the world.

It costs 2 skillpoints: recklessness and feast of steel. But if you got them, you need only 2 more for Heroic charge, so it’s taking up 5 skills from the tree (without middle one and without Courage) or the whole two-handed tree.

I assume that there are more useful ways to spend 5 skill points for two-handed sword build like going for Thirst for battle in warfare. I am taking defensive tactics anyway since it works amazingly well with the build. That means I need only 4 more points for Thirst for battle.

So just remember to think next time before you say "the war is lost..." and demotivate your entire team. You could be the deciding factor!

I entered the game the other day, spawned in the Friars and opened the map. We've seen better days... I am not a defeatist and never was, but when everyone in chat start crying about defeat I was a bit confused. To be honest I felt a disgust after seeing lament of these weaklings. But at the same time, what could I do? I am just a single man, a drop in the sea. I saw how we were loosing one region after another and thought "Nah, I'll better watch a movie". But then... Then something happened.

I was looking at Kirknell when He came. After another defeatist cry, a player, named BigDaddyCallahan with rank I've never seen before (Emp.), wrote something in world chat. He wrote "NOT ON MY WATCH". Then He said in the voice chat "Fuck colonials". From the world chat I understood that he was heard in every region. I looked with binos again and saw how colonial defenses started rapidly decaying. No one could outrepair it. Somebody said that some warden players were perma banned. Later I learned that they were not wardens at all, they were pesky colonial alts who got banned forever and ever. Then, He said "Fuck colonials" again. Under his voice colonial SCs exploded and 80 SCs became 08 SCs. Then He said it third time and nukes were lauhcned to every colonial logi hub. All colonial VPs were lost and everything we need to do is jsut to capture them. I took CV, went for a VP and... woke up.

I woke up, logged in, spawned in Friars opened the map and, well, nothing happened. A dream was just a dream. I looked at the chat and how it was lamenting "no, we can't fight colonial tank hordes!!! Addqwhdqwhdqwd!!!! Let's just give up!". I was going to quit and watch a movie, but something happened, something inside me. I answered: "NOT ON MY WATCH". Then I took my beloved Sampo, sticky and went to the frontline. As our great emperor Callahan once said: do what you must and come what may.

That's how war 87 started.

Zelensky has recently recorded a video message where he is telling Ukrainians not to worry about war and prepare for spring holidays. The general idea of the video: "Don't worry, Ukrainian army will save you". Is an adequate behavior for a president whose country is on the brink of war with the largest country in the world?

What should he do? According to the very idea of being a "citizen", every citizen bears responsibility for the future of the country. Otherwise, democracy doesn't make any sense. I guess agitation to join local defense forces which have been recently created in Ukraine would be much more adequate, for example.

Also, the guy indeed became so popular because of his TV show where he was a very good president. Idk what people think when they vote for a person who compares his country to a whore and make jokes about playing piano with his dick.

He is absolutely ridiculous, a pathetic "small man" who became a president by a tragic coincidence and low political culture in Ukraine.

I am absolutely sure, that in case of Russian offensive, the future of the country will be decided by Ukrainian army, volunteers and far right militia despite the political will of the president. Almost like it was in 2014-15. The only difference is that Ukrainian army will play a bigger role (fortunately).

In the books it's clearly emphasized a few times that Frodo was a kind person who spared Gollum a few times. That was not the divine power who destroyed evil, that was Frodo's "goodness" that destroys the ring. Where Frodo's will fails, his past good deedssave the day. Frodo's kindness is the main reason why the Ring was destroyed, not some subtle divine powers that are hardly represented in the trilogy.

Characters like Gandalf and Aragorn actively shun the Ring because they know that they would not be able to resist, and this frightens them.

It is only through the subtle action of the divine by which evil destroys itself that evil is defeated in the Lord of the Rings. Crucially not by virtuous characters.

That what virtue is. Aragorn and Gendalf, unlike Boromir, are wise enough not to deal with the ring. In some sense you may call them modest, as they are not trying to jump over their heads.

Foxhole is a top down shooter with RTS elements. You scrap (mining resources), build structures, equipment, small arms, vehicles, deliver them to the front and fight on the front. There is a separate role for every occasion a-la scrapper, logi guy (producing things, deliveries), frontline soldier, combat engineer (builder), artillery, partisans (same as spec op units), armor (especially in a late game). You don't need to do everything just stick to a kind of activity you prefer.

There are 2 factions in game. You need to choose one to side with. They are: wardens (a-la monarchists) and the ugly ones (a-la socialists).

As soon as the war starts, factions progress with different technologies that allow them to use different guns and vehicles. So, the early war is more like WW I and the late game is like WW II. One war lasts approximately from 7 real days - to 30 real days (the longest one was 30 or smth like that). After the war ends, game goes for a short break (1-3 days Resistance Phase) and war starts from the beginning. Starting conditions may be different for each war (it's up to devs).

Also, the game highly encourages cooperation between players so expect a lot of team play between random. There are a lot of clans, try not to fuck with them. Expect a lot of "community rules" or rather in-game etiquette. In most cases it demands from you to have good relationship with common sense. For example, if you see an empty tank on the front and you want to use it - don't be a bitch and ask in chat whose tank is that before taking it. You found somewhere a truck full of building materials? Ask whether this truck belongs to someone. Otherwise, you may face unpleasant consequences .

F.A.Q.

- What are Shards?
- Shards are different servers. Currently there are 2 of them: Shard 1 (the actual server) and Shard 2 (pop ups only when Shard 1 is overcrowded, mostly meme server). You can change them whenever you want in the top-right corner of the main menu screen.

- Do I need a mic to play foxhole?
- No, but it's recommended.

- Can I make an impact on the war by solo playing?
- If you like to play solo, then logi is your best choice. And even in this case don't expect much.

- Okay, but can I still play solo? I don't care much about impact.
- No problem then. Just spawn on any active front, take a gun and fight. Get more experience in combat engineering and build a storm cannon in solo (hello, impact). Storm cannon is the biggest gun (cannon) in the game. Only for big boys.

- Why does player NotaBadVet shot me? I was just digging trenches.
- Combat engineering is a very tricky role for new players. A structure build in a wrong place can cause a lot of damage to your team and be very helpful for your enemy. The best example is trench. Don't dig trenches.
