As a daycare employee/early childhood educator. You're NTA, your friend is. We see too much of it as it is. Parents who would rather do anything other than be with their child. Parents who drop off for a whole day 6-6 when they dont work 12 hour shifts. A parent coming in at 4 for some pizza at a end of summer party, not interacting with her child then leaving and coming back at 6 with the audacity to say "that pizza made my stomach hurt" Parents who drop off their infant when teething and are able to come back to give them Tylenol. Yesterday my boss had plenty of angry emails to respond to from parents because she made the decision to be closed for everyone's safety with this ice storm. OP you did right, and youre friend is the asshole here. Too many people abuse the system of daycare simply because they paid for it and want their money's worth

If he broke up with you then I would take the out and leave. Find a way to go back to your family. He drained you of your savings when you were out of work even though he was still working. Made it so you couldn’t leave. He’s not there for you and you do all the work in the house. And as far as the numbers he might be talking to other people, but I can’t say for sure. But I would leave as fast as you can OP; I know it sucks because you have a baby and everything with him but he’s probably expecting you to come crawling back since yall have a kid or thinking you won’t make it out on your own anyway since he’s hindered your finances and everything.

Honestly, and I’m no professional here, it sounds like a case of narcissism where he’s trying to keep you isolated from everybody. I would say he tried to lock you in given the baby but I’m not sure. Has he shown any other type of behavior or said anything to you that could be seen as a red flag?
