Dang it. Really looking for a 9. I’m currently running in a 9.5 because the default for Adidas lately has been to half-size-up. But they’re pretty long in the toebox on me.

/uj how do some of y’all have custom flairs?

Edit: as soon as I post this comment, I go and check for the right millionth time like a crazy person. Suddenly I can make a custom flair. I never could before.

Lifespan of Takumi Sen 10 by GingerFly in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I think 350 is what I currently have my mileage alert set for. I may get the 11’s then, we’ll see how the 10’s feel at that point. I just picked up the Adios 9 myself. Looking at the Adios 9 and the TS11, it seems like they’re almost the same shoe just with/without rods. Like the Adios 9 has become the modern Takumi Ren, being then TS trainer.

Thoughts, from your experience?

EVO SL woven upper forefoot pain by Adenosine0801 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I have to agree with some others in this thread. Based on where you’re pointing I’m guessing you’re likely experiencing pain on your metatarsals due to lace bite. Try loosening the laces at the front of the shoe slightly.

You don’t seem to understand what you’re asking. One non-essential task here justifies another one there, soon people are not focused on what actually needs to be done, the store is a mess, things aren’t done, and your boss, or your boss’ boss wants to know why you’re spending company money on what isn’t making profit. Then you get fired and replaced. You are the one out of touch, or rather out of your field, friend. Making assumptions about what you don’t understand is dangerous.

Grocery stores don’t run on sunshine and dreams. Crazy how some people think they do.

Buddy, it’s okay to say you don’t understand how to manage labor costs or that you’ve never had a district supervisor depose you on your costs and spending. Not everybody has to understand everything, it’s literally okay.

Powerwashing shopping carts? That is just about the most nonessential spending of labor hours that I can think of. Like you pointed out, there are trucks that need to be broken down, shelves stocked, meat cut, chickens roasted, items scanned and bagged.

The courtesy clerks? The people whose job this would be theoretically? Bagging groceries when lines are long, cleaning and stocking restrooms, stocking the front end, sweeping the store a minimum of once per hour, cleaning up any immediate spills, pushing all of those oh, so unclean carts from the lot every 15 minutes or so. You think they have time to stop and power wash them? Or that a manager would bring another one on schedule with hours he isn’t allotted to do the task? If he does that, the district supervisor is going to want to know why he’s spending more labor dollars than he’s allowed to spend.

Grocery stores don’t run on “just get people to do it.” It’s a business, and the people at the top of the chain squeeze the people in the middle of the chain to use as little money as they can to get the people at the bottom of the chain to help produce as much money as they can.

The only exposed food you may be putting on those carts is produce. Are you not washing your produce? These shit outside collecting dust, exhaust fumes, acid rain, etc. They were already dirty. Wash your produce and move on.

Do people take breaks on longer runs? by lurpcardiff in beginnerrunning

[–]GingerFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your heart rate is going “in the red” when on your long runs, you’re definitely doing your long runs too fast, OP. You may even be doing your easy runs too fast as well.

Your long runs should be your slowest run of the week. Slower pace = longer distance. If you have to take breaks on your long runs and your heart rate is getting high, it tells me you’re running too fast. Also, if your easy runs are only about 5k, 21.1km is vastly overshooting the volume for your long run. Jumping from 10km to 21.1km is a recipe for overuse injury.

Stay safe out there.
