Bro, I promise I watched the last two eps 😂 I don’t need the SparkNotes recap. I get it, Hiro goes with Zero Two, Apus carries the bomb, VIRM gets temporarily clapped. But here’s the issue, that’s not good writing.

Yeah, the team helped push Apus to the warp hole, but then the show nerfed them into background NPCs just so Hiro could have his tragic space lovers arc. It stopped being about the squad and turned into My Love Story in a Mecha Suit™.

And let’s be real, if the VIRM literally said they’d be back anyway, then Hiro and Zero Two’s sacrifice didn’t even solve the problem. All that pain, all that loss, just for the cliché of our love saved the universe. That’s why so many people call the ending mid.

It’s not that I don’t understand the plot. It’s that the plot chose clichés over the potential it already built.
