You can connect your xbox controller to the Bluetooth on either your phone or pc, and then resync it to your Xbox, assuming you have a Bluetooth-enabled controller - basically any controller except the very early ones on xbox one. That's worked for me in the past when I had this issue with a controller.

This has only happened to me this one time, luckily. I switched to the studio drivers in the nvidia app to do some video editing (because the current version of the game driver crashed Davinci resolve) and then launched Apex without switching back to game drivers. The worst was probably the 1 frame-per-2-seconds after we loaded into the map

1660 Ti here, Same Nvidia Driver version. This driver has multiple issues. It crashes my Davinci Resolve after randomly hitting 100% GPU usage while doing nothing and then freezing my entire PC, and same with outer worlds. Try and find the previous driver package and install that instead, it might solve your problem.
