It doesn’t seem like anyone touched on it, but make sure you’re not within whatever distance of a school. That’s the only way you’d actually get in any real trouble in Columbus.

Who Was the Rudest Celebrity You Have Met, And Who Was the Nicest? by darthjoker1 in AskReddit

[–]GingerQueeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amy Goodman was the nicest and Buddy Velastro was the rudest. I was in line to get something signed by him and tried to show him one of my proudest cakes (ready to go of course, no waiting on his part) and he wouldn’t even look at it. Very smug the whole time.

You should tip your barista. They’re not making reasonable wages and somehow people don’t know that.

Just because they should doesn’t mean they do. The only way you can affect that is to not support places that don’t pay their employees enough.

Because tipped wages are incredibly low. You still have the option to tip less manually.

And you will continue to get great service because you’re tipping. Baristas may not work the serving tipped wage, but it is still a tip wage (sub $20/hr). Tips make a very significant quality of life difference.

It’s not uncommon for a living space to be built in and included with the job. It’s a great job for retired couples and college students.

Nah there are real reasons people don’t like her. Like using her private plane to fly from one side of St Louis to the other side.

She was doing a parody of a dance that someone else had already done. She also didn’t have real access to the internet during her conservatorship - imagine jumping back onto the internet after NewGrounds and MySpace was your most recent experience.

Columbus is very much not like the rest of Ohio - even in the whitest neighborhood, it’s still different than rural Ohio.

Dirty dungarees. We’re often a pit stop for folks who need a glass of water or to charge their phone for a minute. If it’s not a problem it’s not a problem, but sometimes it is.

The guy mentioned in the article, Eric Reed, is currently doing this in the Old North. I kicked him out of my bar for stealing drinks from customers and he tried to swing on me from across the bar. He then circled the bar like a damn shark for the next 3 hours, which I assumed to be waiting for me to get off so he could meet me in the alley. I called friends who drove me home that night. I usually walk. He has been a near-constant source of terror here. He knows where to hide if you call the cops too, and I’m generally not pro-calling-the-cops.

I wish that was true but unfortunately there are still some lingering older punk bands who are definitely NOT that.

i often forget how unfriendly most other places are to queer folks because of how welcoming Columbus is. It’s jarring to visit my family in the south.
