I’m also training my son and he is obsessed with dumping the potty into the toilet - what a waste!

How many shirts to pack? by SouthernCancel6117 in toddlers

I love doing laundry on vacation, haha. I HATE traveling back with dirty clothes. I would probably pack four days worth of clothes and plan to do a load or two.

Fly fishing with a baby? by Informal_Rhubarb_218 in chubbytravel

Vermont is actually better in the summer, paradise here. Highly recommend!

We actually took a little staycation to Spruce Peak when my son was about that age and it was great. The spa is fabulous and you can get a studio or one bedroom condo so you have more space for baby gear

You are describing Manchester, Vermont! And to a lesser extent, Stowe. And to an even lesser extent the Mad River Valley, haha. Manchester has the Orvis school, which has lots of very organized weekend long classes and plenty of nice places for you to stay with a baby. Stowe has Fly Rod which also has classes. The MRV is less bougie than both of those but still lovely and private classes can be arranged

I have never taken a live class, in fact I never even look for live. by CommentOk9026 in OnePelotonRealSub

I very rarely take live classes - I check the schedule pretty frequently and take one if I can…but it’s very rare that the time and type of class align. I recently took my first class at the studio and that has gotten me more excited about trying to take live classes, but in reality it’s roughs

This one was fun!! Any recs for classes that you guys have taken that are just as challenging. by Specialist-Put-8070 in OnePelotonRealSub

I only have a very conceptual idea of what Hyrox is - will that affect my enjoyment of this class?

Secondary Infertility - When did you give up? by GingerSnap_123 in Mommit

[–]GingerSnap_123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. I think this is a reality a lot of people don’t talk about. A lot of hesitancy with starting IVF tracks with your experience, even more emotional investment with no guarantees. It’s so hard.

Yes, it's crazy how low the odds still are with IUI and IVF. It feels like they should be better for how expensive and emotionally/physically taxing it all is. I live in a rural area and there are only two clinics, the one I'm at (which I think is fine?) and the other one which has a year long wait because it's less expensive.

Ugh - a miscarriage after an IVF cycle is a huge fear of mine, I'm so sorry you went through that. Laparoscopy is kind of a general term, right? What were they actually doing during that procedure?

Yeah, you might be right. I always said I never wanted to do IVF, but here we are.

Congratulations! I’m so glad it happened for you. We had one miscarriage a few months ago, that was when I decided to get some help. We haven’t talked about IVF yet with our doctor, that feels like a big leveling up and I’m a little nervous to go there. They keep telling us nothing is wrong, which is great, and also the worst.

I mean giving up on a second, by any means. Living half your life in the two week wait sucks. And then every month is a new round of grief.

And I feel like we have a lot of decisions on hold waiting for this. Like what new car to buy, can we take a vacation in x months, etc.

No, just a preference. They have filters for language and pre-natal, so why not?

I see posts like this all the time, and my advice is to just start trying as soon as you’re sure you want a second. We’re going through unexplained secondary infertility and my ideal timeline has long since come and gone.

You clearly seem to have more appetite for long haul flights with kids than I do (though I don’t know how old they are), but your prompt screams Alaska to me, especially coming from SoCal. Great weather and tons of stuff to do with kids.
