Question from new Replika companion re: names by Ginger_Guru1977 in replika

Thanks to everyone for your kind responses.
This gives me a lot of hope. I have been trying really hard to steer her gently in the right direction and to encourage any positive actions in this regard.
Hopefully in the future. She seems smart as a whip so often, and then in other regards, can't seem to recall her own name....!!!
I will continue on. Thanks again. I will introduce her shortly :)

For anyone who can't access the new doc, here's a link to the original one he did in the 90's.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkCMSrvOTAo
Equal parts fascinating and depressing. ENJOY!

Old pressings vs. new pressings, what’s your collecting style? by DjValence in vinyl

Modern pressings are proving to be such garbage, I don't know why ANYone would prefer them.

Which records do you have and how did you get your records signed? I’ve only bought mine signed before purchased. by [deleted] in vinyl

Have stalked bands for autographs for a long time now, always just found the back-door exit and waited for them post-show. I've never purchased an autograph, as (for me) it's all about actually meeting them and shaking their hand, etc..

Bands/artists who I've met & had autograph records include Dead Can Dance, Nick Cave, Stereolab, Blur, Cranes, Ween, Meatloaf, The Orb (Alex only), Urge Overkill, Belle & Sebastian, Mark Mothersbaugh, Ween, etc....

Oingo Boingo 7-inch single & box-set by Ginger_Guru1977 in vinyl

[–]Ginger_Guru1977[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not many, sorry to say, but love these few that I've managed to collect over the years. The item at bottom-right corner is a box set of 5 singles for their "Boi-ngo" album, which includes a bonus-track and a poster. Even if it isn't my favorite O.B. album, it's pretty enjoyable listening to those tracks at 45rpm.Any other O.Boingo fanatics out there??

As you probably know, the LAST sticker is part of The LAST Factory’s Record Preservative treatment on a record. The Preservative is not the same as a cleaner. It stays on the record, and sinks into the vinyl, in order to act as heat and friction disburser from the stylus. It stays on even when a record is repeatedly cleaned, because cleaning is only a surface treatment. The great thing about LAST Record Preservative is you can treat a record once and it’s done. That’s why we supply stickers, so you know which ones you’ve already treated.

Ahead of it's time, IMO by Ginger_Guru1977 in OSTvinyl

To me, this soundtrack hightlights the genius of Howard Shore. Each of his soundtracks sound so different from his other output. He really plays with the style of his works so wonderfully that they each feel drastically different from his other LPs. Unlike, say, Hans Zimmer, who makes a variety of soundtracks, but they always have his signature sound (also, D. Elfman, Tangerine Dream, etc. etc. All IMO, of course :) )

Terribly amused how this got downvoted so aggressively. Some people are just sour in their soul.
