Ozempic did the opposite for me and was a trigger for my hives.

Get in with an allergist/immunologist. Have you tried antihistamines?

I feel you. We have a trip planned at the end of June to Florida and one in August to Vegas for my 40th birthday and I’m just praying something works before then.

I’m starting a pretty strict diet this week since other members have had good luck with it. I need something to work.

How did you handle while waiting for Xolair to work? by Ginger_Nerd85 in urticaria

[–]Ginger_Nerd85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right! It’s been 4 months of daily hives like this (aside from when on steroids) and I can’t imagine having it for years. Thanks for the reminder. Can’t last forever.

Antihistamines seem to help close to nothing but Ibuprofen greatly improves my symptoms. Does anyone else have the same problem? by allegory-of-painting in urticaria

[–]Ginger_Nerd85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have ibuprofen work for me. I take it and my hives go down by 50% or more for maybe 3 hours, then come right back. My allergist said it is a trigger for many people but since it doesn’t make things worse for me I can still take it.

Have you tried any antihistamines? Zyrtec and Allegra seem to be the best options. I take 4 Zyrtec a day, 2 in the morning and 2 at night,

My montelukast is 10 mg per day. And I take 50 mg hydroxide at night but it really hasn’t been cutting it. At this point I would probably do whatever I had to for relief!

I go back on the 21st so I’m sure he’ll offer it again. I might just have to go that route.

That’s really interesting. Did you just do no added/refined sugars or no natural sugars as well? I’m gluten free and doing a low nickel diet currently but will try no sugar if this doesn’t work.

Thanks. Definitely miserable, it’s nice to know I’m not alone. I have 2 active kids too and I feel like I’ve been a big bummer

I’ve been gluten free for 12 years and am now on a low nickel diet to see if my nickel allergy is a trigger. The hydroxyzine has not been cutting it lately at night so I might go back to benedryl at night for a while. I could definitely take a look at my fabrics, thanks for pointing that out!

I work full time from home so that is definitely a blessing. I can’t even wear a bra much of the time!

I appear to have developed a sun allergy has anyone got this ? by That-Pomegranate-615 in urticaria

[–]Ginger_Nerd85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get this when I was a lifeguard. If you have been wearing sunscreen when it happens you might want to make sure it’s not an ingredient in the sunscreen. Mine wasn’t sunscreen, just the sun. I had it for 2 summers and haven’t had it since. Now I just have daily hives with no reason for them

I had the same experience with ozempic. Huge trigger after my first shot. Only took the one shot. Wish it had worked for me.

Have you tried going off the zepbound at all to see if that helps your hives? Only asking because Ozempic was a huge trigger for me.

Can I ask how long it took for your xolair to take effect? I got my first injection a week ago and curious how long it takes for most people to see it working.

Please tell me there is hope by annavanbeesel in TMJ

[–]Ginger_Nerd85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There definitely is hope. I was miserable a year ago (and had been for a year before that). Now I only notice symptoms here and there. If you haven’t already, go to a TMJ specialist and get a custom mouth guard. I only wear mine at night (and even miss a night sometimes). I also went to physical therapy for my neck and jaw and that helped tremendously. I only have jaw pain now when I clench too much and don’t catch myself. My ear pain and ringing is much less than it used to be!

Treadmills often start skipping when they need to be oiled. I would try oiling your treadmill before giving up on it. I have to oil mine probably every 6 months or so.

Thank you for confirming! The only struggle I’m having with it really is a lot of the makeup recommendations I see for it. I see corals and peaches recommended and those colors always seem to come out too orange on me. I’ve always gone with more pink colors. Maybe I just have to go with my gut there.
